Fantastic! I was getting worried starting at that 12/31/2011 release date on Amazon the past couple of days. Too bad no Special Edition for America. At the very least I'm glad they didn't cut out any parts and change the name of the game to appease conservatives who won't even play the game.

YES! I'm super pumped for this game. Probably one of my most anticipated of the year honestly. Of course I'm excited for the GoW3's, FFXIII, and GT5 but I've had all of those experiences before in one way or another. This is something new fresh and I can't wait to see what they've done.
The only way I wouldn't buy this game on day one is if it got an average rating under an 8.0...and I doubt that'll happen. I'm sure it won't be perfect, but I've already expected that. As long the succeed on most of what is expected I'm sure I'll be satisfied.

Most of the trailers don't spoil too much. At least watch the taxidermy one so you can get a feel for the gameplay.

Heavy rain looks like it will be very visually impressive, but ultimately boring. It looks like it's going to be 'pretentious and artsy' instead of being 'a game'.

That's not it at all. It just takes story before anything else, and the gameplay is based around the storytelling which is why it's so limited. Hardly "pretentious and artsy", it's just another approach at designing a game. It's obviously not a game for you though, so I suggest you just move along.
