Looks kinda cool I guess, I'm just shocked/pleased to find out it's free and not sold as $5 DLC.

You need something a lot more convincing and better than that to bait someone like me.

Pretty slick and looks like a deep system and not just a cheap card system that gives you an extra down or +.00000005% awareness for one play (not at your choosing). It's also cool that it's free, of course. I better go download this before they change their mind...

I also like how we have to pay for FIFA10 UT in the UK, but foney football gets it free...

Its pretty awesome, though playing games with your shitty starters is morale breaking

My BEST player is danny amendola

are you serious

makes it interesting, though.

Why call out Activision on this? Free DLC is a rare commodity on consoles, Activision is well within the norm in that department.

Yes, but Activision likes charging a lot for their DLC, and churning out a lot of it. Another tactic of theirs I noticed was in W@W when the DLC came out the matchmaking would always go to a DLC map, and of course I couldn't play it, so they obviously didn't turn off DLC maps for people who didn't have them to give incentive to (*cough *cough FORCE) them to throw away more hard earned cash.

I'm not too worried about getting the gold of platinum cards because the ratings may help a player, but you really only need to consider a couple categories for each position. My best player on my franchise team is Shagg Makino, with a 57 rating overall, I think. His best ratings are for speed and elusiveness. He had 10 KR for TDs last season.

That's just one example but what I love about Madden is finding players that play great even though they have crap ratings.

Um, why does Ultimate Team cost money for FIFA but not Madden?

Madden probably sold more copies.

How do the games actually play out? Do you just watch them play and cheer them on?

no, you actually play out a game with your team

your starter deck gets you enough for a full team (QB, RB, WR, DE, OT, etc) and you play for more points to buy new booster packs/cards from the auctioneer

Also you get uniform cards and playbooks and such

They should have used pogs instead of trading cards.

So they're bringing back a feature they had in versions from 8 or 10 years ago? Exciting!

Oh, what the hell? So this gives me a could of the options I wanted in the normal game to play offline, but I have to play online or play the computer to get more "points" for better players. Not only that but it is a mode outside of the normal game to begin with.

Damnit... that's two steps forward and a slap to the face that makes you reel one step back.

I just want to make a created team with plays and a playbook of my choosing (fully created, not a hand-me-down from a real team), which was in the game a few years back. Is that so effing hard, EA?

Wonderful... so that means I can either play Madden 05 or so for a bunch of options I liked, or pay $60 to have those same options available for later purchase.

I think I may just retire from Madden again after 10, cuz I'm starting to remember why I quit the first time.

This sounds cool and addicting as hell. The only downside is that it's going to take a lot of time away from my created Springfield Isotopes franchise.

I'd imagine it's free to entice some more sales, since the figures were lower than previous years'. FIFA, meanwhile, will sell by the bucketload regardless because OMGFOOTBALL~!

And foney football? Really? At least the yank version doesn't have players tripping over thin air and crying at referees because they can't stay within the rules for five minutes.
