I feel sorry for LCD TV owners without a "Game Mode" feature that eliminates the delay caused by upscaling SD or ED content (as in 480i or 480p on the Wii) to the panel's native resolution. That's why some of us stick to the old reliable CRTs of yore.

Don't forget that it IS native resolution on the PS360, as in, the video feed is HD despite the game being half standard def.so it looks fine. Dunno aboit Wii.

Plus, old games looking better on a CRT is really personal preference; it doesn't look worse on LCD's, you're just not used to seeing the pixels all naked, cause CRT's hid them with blur. Unless there's some other weird thing I dunno.

@Levi

The LCD panels are the ones that blurs SD content, not CRT.

Blur sucks!

I'm confused about this game, is it a rerelease? or just a new game in old style graphics?

Something like that 2.5D Mega man project but none of that running in and out of the background stuff or something like 3D dot game heroes would be cool.

I do love how they brought the retro style back to it, but why does it have to STAY there? Can't they innovate it a bit without destroying it?

OK the first time they did this was really, really awesome and a welcome throw back. But now Capcom just looks lazy.

Mega Man 8 was a damn good game!! There's no reason not to bring Mega Man to the 21st Century. I think an HD Mega Man 10 would blow our freaking MINDS.

Quit doing this shit and make a proper Mega Man 10 damn it.

I take that back. I was thinking of 7 (the one with treble & bass). That one is worse, but 8 is pretty bad too.

JUMP JUMP

SLIDE SLIDE

never again.

I was raised on the NES. Mega Man 2 is my fav game ever. I have the GC collection disc, and play it at least once a year. I always skip 7 & 8. 5 and 6 were a bit stale, but still fun.

9 was already a dream come true. 10 is just icing. If they decide to take Mega Man outside of 8bit and continue, that is fine by me. I just won't play it. For now, let us have our fun.

to me picking the worst Megaman game is like picking the worst Final Fantasy game....fairly hard to do...but if I had to I would say that 7 is the worst Megaman and 8 is the worst Final Fantasy...

I can't believe people are hyped up for this. It the same shit all over again. This is supremely LAZY. Hmmm... what will happen in this game? Megaman hops... and shoots pellets... and goes into a room! Then jump, shoot... climb up ladder! Or down! (Glad they threw down in for some variety!) Then after rooms and ladders what would happen next? Maybe he will fight Mr. _______? Whoa! I can't wait to see what they do next. And you know the graphics don't look like they were simply reskinned. For real people! Any computer science student can make this kind of game and it would be done as practice. LAME! Just throw a number at the end of the title and people will buy it in droves. Works for the movie industry.

...continuing Imrans rant......and then theres racing games where you speed up with the accelerator and you turn left! or right! (Glad they threw right in for some variety)Whoa! I can't wait to see what they do next. Or how about FPS....you run around shooting people by pulling the trigger on the gun, and if your aim is good enough, they die!.....AMAZING....and then.......hahah sorry everyone I can't keep this up forever.....

Well considering "tape" (film) records better than most digital recorders, yeah. The day that all movies are recorded digitally is the day I stop watching them.

But as for everyday use, most people use digital.

Mega Man is for masochists. I bought the newest one they did on PSN and loved it for about 20 minutes. I'm fine with retro but the cheapness of the enemies just killed it. Made me think I'm a failure since I used to beatMM games as a kid. Why not the same style but some sweet HD visuals and creativity in the level & enemy designs.

I make this comment every time Mega Man comes up it seems but I would still love to see the Mega Man Powered Up games released on XBLA (and PSN I guess but that wouldn't do me any good). Or they could even forget the Powered Up games and go round up the ex-Grin guys to do a Mega Man Rearmed.

The problem with releasing neo-retro releases these days is that the appeal of them wears off even faster than before. I can't see myself enjoying another 6 of these style of games every 12-18 months like before. Things have to change before we get to MM14 (like MM7 was).

Can't wait to get nickel and dimed with DLC that should have been included with the original content. Now I can pay for each difficulty and mode individually.

/sarcasm, in all seriousness this DLC crap is what kept me from buying MM9, and will keep me from buying MM10

"8 bit is more atheistically pleasing" really? 8 bit 2d is more aesthetically pleasing than say, BC Rearmed or a Boy and His Blob really now.

BC there is an argument, but too much light bloom on that Rearmed game. A Boy And His blog got a total makeover, not just an upres. it doesn't count.

Mega Man just feels right in 8bit. The music is perfect, the character design is more iconic. 8 added too much, and the X series was just plain silly with all the spikey costumes and such. It looked like a generic action anime. The limited palette of old Mega Man uses what tools it has better than any "upgrade" has.

I know a lot of people just feel like older style graphics are just factually inferior to 16 bit or 32 bit or 3D or whatever, but that's just not right. NES is when graphics in games finally started to flesh out, and in my opinion, it's the beginning of video game art as we know it. I understand completely why the popular opinion is to like pretty 3D graphics better, but these old 8 bit style graphics aren't inferior, they are just different.

I have Bionic Commando complete for the NES as well as Rearmed, and I kinda think of them as two different games, despite the fact that they did such a good job with Rearmed.
