We know we've built a permanent establishment in our cheek in which to house our tongues, but we're being completely sincere when we say that the above trailer for Lego Universe is one of the coolest trailers we've seen in a long time. Who knew that a kid-friendly MMO in which colorful, stackable bricks are collected could cause our adrenaline to rise in a way we only thought really intense episodes of 24 were capable of? We certainly did not know that.
Check out the trailer above, then check out a fresh batch of screenshots below. They're considerably less awesome than the trailer, but they can't really be blamed for their stationary nature.

Come to think of it I wish I had more Star Wars Lego sets. They're really expensive these days, most of them being around the price of a new game.

And you have to order the good ones from the shop at home catalog.
For fear of missing pieces, I wouldn't order from ebay.

Yea... that looked pretty cool. But all MMO trailers do. I guess now it'll make sense why someone wants you to get 10 of the same items now?

I have been waiting for more news on this for a long time. I know it's geared towards kids, but I don't give a damn. If you build stuff in this game, and not in a fake way like Lego Indiana Jones, if you actually build stuff all the time, I'll friggin play it. I'll own those 6 year olds

They should start including special codes in their lego toys, so that there are certain legos that when you buy them in real life, you can obtain in the game as well. That would tie things into the MMORPG, and boost sales of real-life legos

Indeed a really cool trailer! Lego is such a great invention and I am so happy to see them venture into the digital area the way they do! Wrote a blog post on Lego earlier today for anyone interested in exploring this company further:

Cartoon Network made an MMO called Fusion Fall. This looks like Fusion Fall with Legos instead of cartoon characters... but then again, the whole "take something cute and set it against an evil version of itself" thing has probably been done a million times..
