I bought this the week it came out and played it for two straight evenings, but haven't touched it since. I ended up discovering I don't have the patience to devise the really awesome solutions for each level, and so just kind of found brute force solutions. Which ends up not being a terribly fun way to play. I think it's a brilliant game, just maybe not one for me.

I would highly suggest throwing him a few bucks for it though and trying, even one or two evenings of playing with it is worth way more than that.

That seems like a reasonable price to pay. Would be awesome if it was on Steam, but I'm not picky.

Already own it. While it's a clever little title the levels pretty much all consist of "draw ramp" and while it occasionally varies a bit, it isn't until you've already been playing for a while. Still though, for "pay what you want" I'd put $5 towards it.

I can imagine how that game would play out. It would consist of a counter of all the donations the community has given to play the game. Below the counter is a percentage that represents your contribution in comparison to the total contribution. As more people pay, your percentage lowers, showing how insignificant your contributions are, refreshing every 5 minutes asking you whether you want to rethink your contribution and add more to the total.

It's the ultimate game!

I can imagine this in new Ubisoft releases - no DRM, but pirates get this at the title screen... with the percentage always at zero.

It would be awesome if this guy could get a DSi license/SDK and make a version of this for DSiWare. Pocket Physics, the homebrew software, was sort of based on this, but it lacked any goals. Still a blast though.

I actually thought pocketphysics was more fun because you just goofed off and played with the physics. Crayon Physics deluxe has goals but too often they're just too simple to be fun.

Hmm, you might be right. Yeah, I had a lot of fun with Pocket Physics actually, and I think you might be right about the simplicity, but I haven't really played it yet so I don't know. The main thing I didn't like about Pocket Physics was really the hardware limitations of the DS. The earlier versions were ridiculously buggy, but I think eventually he got it to a point that it would rarely crash, but it still wasn't capable of much. I bet with the DSi's faster processor they could make an awesome version of Pocket Physics or Crayon Physics. I guess this guy is a little more likely to get a license from Nintendo since he's got a real game that people buy, and if he made a DSiWare version I'd buy it instantly because it would be a fun thing to have.

Jeez, I like steam as much as the next guy, but it's a bit weird when we get to the point that people don't like almost-free drm-free catch-free software just because it isn't on steam...

Based on the demo, I wouldn't say it's worth as much as World of Goo (which was well worth $30), but it's sure worth at least $1.

I paid $1.00, so I feel reasonably good that I wasn't a selfish a-hole who paid a penny. :D

This isn't a steam sale. Go to his website and order directly through Paypal (where the default option is, by the way, UK).

I made a donation, didn't receive an email link and have received no response to my emails to support. I'm not sure I can condemn those paying $0.01 under these circumstances. And before anyone asks, I did check both the email linked to my paypal and the junk folder. I'm not really wishing him a happy birthday right now!

It worked for me instantly, but I had to try a few times to get the download due to the server volume. Could be issues. Did you get a paypal receipt? Either way, contact him via email and I'm sure he'll sort it out.

Paid a penny for World of Goo, gonna do the same for this one. Suck it. I probably won't even play this since the demo wasn't very enticing.

So? The theory here is that good games don't have to ask for your money? Or? That great games ask for to much?
It cost money on Steam? Buuuuut! It's pay what you want on the nets!

I don't get this concept!

Ok, now I'm frustrated and confused.... Is it free or what?... No one is telling me what to do here! Help.. I feel depressed!.. Oh begeezus!
Wait!... He wants money!.. Is he poor?
The game is to cute... He, wants women? Ok, I give up... Whats the gag? He's bord and messing with us? Huh?
