Caveman, you're being an idiot. I don't need Natal to enjoy the company of my family, I can already do that, because we aren't horrible people. I play games for me, if i want to spend time with my family acting crazy and silly ill fucking smoke weed or something. I want Natal to be something innovative and drastically change the way we play games, one step closer to holodecks, but it's just gonna be useless mini game crap, and you just wanna settle for it and never have anything improve?

That's great for you Dark Wayne for you.

I want flying cars, but I'm not berating Ford or GM because they don't exist.

Natal, just like any of these new motion control devices will have it's place with audiences.

What Natal can and cannot do is up to the developers of the game. We've only seen tech demos so far of what Natal can do.

If we judged innovation by its first attempt there wouldn't be much around. Look at 1st gen PS3 games, they're nothing like they look now. That doesn't mean that people should purchase a PS3 because the first batch of games look mediocre.

Why not give it some time and see what the product can do. You honestly think that PR people reveal their hand in these press statements?

If MS doesn't have anything good to show for Natal by E3, I can see your concern, but until then there is much to complain about.

I'm definitely with Caveman on this one. Whoever said he doesn't know any families with a 360 in their living room, needs think think more and type less. Thats exactly why they made Natal - to the make the 360 more family friendly and bring new gaming experiences. Also, if you guys are so against Natal, what does it matter to you if it's good or not, just keep playing games the traditional way then. By the way just because there's no controller right now doesn't mean they won't make an add on for it later. I hope I don't see any of you on a thread after it's released saying how awesome it is though.

@nasalbaton Why does everyone just take things like this up the ass and smile about it and tell everyone else to do the same. Natal provided an incredible opportunity for innovation that they have thrown away. I don't want to play games the traditional way, I've been doing that for 20 years, I want them to evolve, and when they had the chance to, they just shit out mini games instead

i was reading an article the other day that i searched through google news bc i was excited when i heard they announced things at ces 2010, ill post a link later when i go searching for it after i post this, the article said they plan on (or hope to) having three kits come out, 2 at launch and a possible third after they see sales and reviews of customers, the first two will be the camera and a mini game and a camera with a special adapter (the processor some of you were talking about, that allows the 360 to keep its 10-155 of power to itself and the games you may play)to where the 360 hard drive attaches with a 20 gb hard drive also included into it, which bothers me because then i wont have any of my saved stuff on my current hard drive available to me, which also brings on the next package, depending on sales and reviews, the third package that will be available in late spring to early summer will be a 120 gb hard drive processor, or a processor without a built in hard drive that allows you to put your personal hard drive onto it as if it was just an extension of the 360 port, if you understand what im saying. my concerns are, will this mean well have to plug another thing into the wall? or will we also receive(or worse yet buy) an additional plug for the 360 itself that pushes more power into the 360, and then this also nbrings up the whole thing about is this going to cause the 360 to become hotter? will it bring back the red ring of death, god forbid all of us that have sent in our 360s numerous times to be fixed have to do it all over again or even get screwed and be forced to buy another 360 or just forget microsoft all together.

All I have to say is...

1. all ya'll do is bitch and complain about the dumbest shit in the world. Obviously it's NOT aimed for the hardcore gamers, they are trying to attract CASUAL gamers. It's a business, there's a market for EVERYTHING. If your not interested then no one is forcing you to buy it. Ya'll are acting like when Natal releases traditional controllers are going to stop working. smh

2. So what if it's hogging up to 15% of resources? ya'll acting like CASUAL games need 100% of the Xbox's power. smh

3. All ya'll fools do is speculate without knowing exactly how it's going to work or what devs actually have planned for it. We wont know anything until it's out and games are made for it.

Now STFU and get back to playing games!

Thank You, that is all.

I think the problem is some of the hardcore fans of XBOX wanted to use this and hoped it would include them as well as the casuals. Now with the lag news (100ms) and the 10% - 15% hit on hardware their hopes are kinda shot. It seems like nothing more than a mini-game add-on. I'm sure some of those mini-games may be good, but the question remains....will the experience make people wanna fork over an extra $50+ to play them?

Exactly. People just need to realize that mini games will not be the only thing Natal has to offer. Then they'll see that it's easily worth 50$. Just think of the possibilities or watch those e3 videos again.

Does anyone realize that:

1. It uses resources that AAA or even some AA titles might need for performance?

2. Microsoft is 4 years too late

3. This New controller is Wii-Like to where it senses motion and such.

If the 3rd is to be true, then its not the revolution we all want, but wanted to happen 4 years ago on Wii.

I believe that this will just hiccup into the world and we all realize Microsoft and Sony are too late to the game that Nintendo created themselves.

They might have to actually end this game generation early. Things are not going as planned. Wii failed the core. 360 failed in stable hardware. PS3 failed in pricing early on.

I demand a NEW generation of game consoles NOW

I would have rather paid more money to have more power. This thing should have had its own CPU, and the xbox should have kept its own power for itself.

I'd have spent the money for better games.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Putting a processor inside the Natal powerful enough to analyze the difference between 2 video sources would make it stupidly expensive.

Rather, it's 2 USB cameras that feed the data to the Xbox and let it handle the computations. Natal "technology" is programming, not hardware.

As for shovelware, what did you all expect? I've been saying for YEARS that the Wii will bring the 360 and PS3 down to its level, now it's happening. The games will probably be heavily "Natal" branded.

We should be glad this crap won't be shoehorned into real games - I sure as hell don't want it.

Actually he didn't exactly say they won't. This is what Aaron Greenberg told Joystiq, "Our focus is on most if not all them will fall into that category of completely unique, brand-new experiences for Natal." Key word being "most". Secondly, how are brand-new experiences a bad thing? Then it says this - But that doesn't mean that other developers aren't able to supplement their game's input with Natal controls. After the release this holiday, "developers will have that out there at their fingertips if they want to enable those features," Read it and weep haha. It's also going to be in Fable 3, as they said at the end of this articles. But anyways, even if Microsoft's main focus is brand new experiences right off the bat, it doesn't mean they aren't ever going to explore more options with Natal.

Natal/ PS3 'Gem' or whatever it is going to be called will simply end up being used as an excuse for third party developers to port games to all 3 consoles. Seeing as Wii has a much larger install base, they are going to be the ultimate winners in all this - who would buy 360 or ps3 when most of the games they want are already on a console that they already own?

I for one, am happy that Microsoft and Playstation will have there own motion enabled games and applications. I want motion related games, but with PS3 and Xbox360 quality, instead of the pre-school graphics of the Wii.
I am concearned about Project Natal because it doesn't have any buttons, but that's no need to curse them. I might actually get an Xbox360 so that I'll have both experiences. (I have a PS3 already)
I believe that people were semi-stuck with the Wii for this type of gaming, and now that Xbox360 and PS3 are joining the club, they can now upgrade to a better system.
