You guys just now found out about this? I was in one of these games like 2 weeks ago. It's pretty hilarious, really. I wish it was a normal game mode.

Agree this hack has been roaming around the MW2 community even before new year of 2010. Well, it was pretty fun to see it being reported again much like the javelin/unli ammo we all have a taste before. Remember, remember: http://bit.ly/modern-warfare-another-cool-bug

I feel sorry for all the players who bought the game and have to experience this shit, but on the other hand, I'm glad IW is proven every single day since release that their online infrastructure is made of shit.

Should have actually invested time and money into making a working system instead of the whoring piece of crap that it is.

Also, dedicated servers.

Why would you feel sorry, glitches like this are a blast. It doesn't ruin the gameplay at all, if you don't like the mode just exit the match and start a new one. It's actually fairly rare.

As a PC player of MW2... IWNet is the single biggest piece of fuck ever coded. A ground war lobby just drives you insane because it's constantly merging lobbies, unmerging, finding best host then someone leaves so it goes back to looking for more players/another lobby to merge with and it just goes on and on...

IW just got fucking greedy is what it seems like. They knew it would sell like nothing else before it and now that's it out and they've made their billions it seems like they're giving it a bare minimum of support. No doubt gearing up for the DLC push in a few months time while just barely lifting a finger to take care of the most blatant/obvious glitches in-game.

And, I think they need to can Robert Bowling and hire a new guy if nothing else than for a clean plate PR-wise.

Ok why did I get downvoted for saying the glitch isn't all that bad? It's no more an outlandish claim than "boy I sure do feel sorry for people playing this crap game!"

Which by the way, why would you feel sorry for people who enjoy playing a game, regardless of your views on it? I don't like Dragon Age but I'm not sorry for the people who get more enjoyment out of it than I did. vOv

Because the downvote system has devolved in recent months from something to weed out idiots to a way to silence any opinion that isn't exactly the same as the Joystiq hivemind

I saw this glitch in a match last night. Damn near unplayable. It's people who think these are 'fun' that pollute and ruin online gaming (not just Live).

No bullshit, I saw this hack on PSN too. I was playing last night
and both me and my cousin saw someone running super fast. The
irony of it all? It's not just on the xbox.

And my online friends wonder why I play COD4 online more than MW2..

No, it does not. With a dedicated server, you can kick/ban whoever is hacking/being a dick and implement counter-measures to glitches and exploits (in TF2, some admins made it so that people who tried to use certain map glitches would be automatically set on fire).

Here I've decided to create a small and helpful guide to Modern Warfare 2 glitches. We all know IW is pack of insane Satan worshiping demons who hate gamers on a grand scale. As such, Modern Warfare 2 is their diabolical tool to exact pain and suffering unto gamers. Well you're in luck Video Game Enthusiasts, because this guide will save you from certain damnation!

The Flash Glitch

What is it: This is when people had modified a server to activate super speed during matches. This can be troublesome to gamers, as they might not be able to keep up with the pace of the match.

Solution: Unless you're super worried about your win/loss ratio, just quit the match and find another one. This glitch is extremely rare.

Unlimited Ammo Glitch

What is it: Much like the super speed glitch, the game has been modified to prevent all guns on both teams from running out of ammo. It can also rapid fire things like the RPG.

Solution: You might actually wonder what the problem here is, since this puts both teams on a level playing field as opposed to crippling just one. Well some people hate endless bullets I guess. Same solution as above, quit and leave. It's my understanding that this has been patched. If not it continues to be very rare.

Javelin Glitch

What is it: Oh me oh my, you don't know? It's only the worst thing to come out of video games in the last fifty years! This allows people to explode upon death while having the Javelin equiped as your primary weapon.

Solution: Well it has been patched, but this doesn't stop people from complaining about it. So that must mean it's still actively ruining people's gameplay experience! Well when this first came out, it was all the rage. Everyone was Javelin Glitching all over the placed. So quitting is not an option. Oh shoot, guess that means you'll have to not suck at the game. Just shoot one of the rushing glitchers a few times and you'll take them out well before they can reach you. Who knows, if you time it right you'll take their team members down as well.

I'll write up more if anyone wants them. Although the evil bastards at IW have come in on their time off to fix patches, don't let their kindness fool you. What they're really doing is fixing some bugs, while purposefully implanting more just to ruin your game!

Solution: Don't buy Modern Warfare 2! Its SO bad!!

As a part PC gamer, mostly xbox live player I believe you PC gamers should shut the hell up about MW2, dedicated servers aren't coming and never will and you guys having your immature little tantrum isn't helping. PC has had less and less games devoloped for it, and when a devoloper decides wether to bring its game to PC you guys request so much more than what PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers get.

The days of old of PC gamers getting a cheaper and better support than all other consoles is over, and you need to realize it.

to my fellow MW2 PC players, have you ever successfully switched hosts? Every time the screen goes black and yellow and it says it's switching hosts, I always get kicked. I have never made a successful host switch, ever. Is this just me?

if you get kicked during host migration, it's cause you're the old host. no one else gets kicked besides the host.

Seriously, though... this happened with Gears of War(2006) when it came out. Everyone and their momma found exploits & ways to break the game, it comes with the territory. It will happen with popular games, no game comes out perfect.

Maybe their coding wasn't the best, but PC GAMERS came up with those glitches on their own (with the exception of the Javelin glitch).

personally this is why I prefer console gaming over PC gaming, besides the fact I don't have to upgrade my computer every other year just to play the hot new game on the block with all the graphical settings enabled.

I would consider this a mod more than a glitch. This looks more like someone hacked the game. This is not something that can be activated in a normal match.

Yup, in Uncharted 2, there was a glitch where you could kill your whole team at the beginning of teh match with a grenade.

It got fixed thanks to the beta testers.

the mode is made more fun by both teams using unscoped Interventions exclusively. My friends and I resorted to this after encountering this glitch 3 times in a row last night.

we also figured out how the running works - turning while sprinting makes you speed up like the entire game is moving in fast forward

Usually I get pissed at the glitching crap that goes on in console games, but I actually didn't mind the "unlimited ammo" glitch, nor this one.

When you realize how incredibly repetitive the multi-player gets, little harmless things like this are just plain fun every once and a while.
