In a recent interview with AvPGalaxy, Rebellion Studios' Martin Kennedy and Alex Moore openly spoke their minds regarding last month's Australian ratings fiasco with Aliens vs. Predator before revealing news of an upcoming demo for the game. "People who want the game will get [it] imported, it's not going to hurt us ... if anything it's been a bit of decent publicity," Kennedy said. "We're not going to water down the game for countries that can't treat adults like adults," continued Moore.
Moore even went as far as to compare Australia's ban-happy government (as of late, at least) to past situations with Germany. "Germany's always one of those places that we've known it was going to be difficult because the first one [game] got banned in Germany as well." When pressed on the subject of a demo, however, the duo were more careful in their wording. "There will be a demo ...that's all we can say," Moore confirmed. Considering the game is still on schedule for an "early 2010" release (maybe February?), we're hoping that the demo will be arriving sooner rather than later.

I like the statement they made. Australia Ratings Board really needs to stop being a bunch of jerk-offs and let people have the entertainment they need.

Uh, guys - the game isn't banned here. It's being released. It's been classified for almost a month now.

I'm glad they didn't hold back in their opinion on the subject at hand.
Also glad that they called out AUS govt with the comment "..treating adults like adults" and letting it be known that if it's out there, somehow people will get their hands on it.
Kind of surprised at how candid they were though. Glad to see reps of a company do that for once instead of all the double talk.

If more of media took this opinion and fought against it, the ratings would change, believe me, if they continue to surrender and water thier games down, the ratings boards will have no real reason to change things unless people rose up against it.
Movies and games alike just have to refuse to sell adult games over there until things change.

Rebellion are known for some plain shit games. They are the reason people thought the PSP was good for nothing but crap ports. Any video game company that brings something as horrible and as against nature as Rogue Warrior to the world, has serious issues. That said i am a massive fan of AvP2 (Which Rebellion did NOT make).

Germany and Australia have a sort of guilt similar to that found in white people in the USA. They feel they need to make exceptions for certain things to I suppose make up for their ancestors transgressions. White guilt is a powerful thing lololololol.

Silicon Siren "White guilt?"
LOL
You dig too deep for answers to a very simple problem.
Simply do-gooders trying to enforce their ideas on everyone. These people do not believe in freedom of speech OR expression.
They are the same the world over regardless of skin colour or nationality or "white guilt" hahahaha.

Nope it's most certainly a modern guilt society has. That is the majority of the reason behind the censorship of video games in Germany and Australia. The whole modern guilt thing is rather silly though, considering no one makes a connection like that these days anymore. Australia doesn't need to worry about the types of people that founded their country and Germany's political leaders need to realize WWII is over and people aren't really upset about it anymore. I just thought I'd make a humorous connection to the public idea of "white guilt."

Hes right (as far as the german government goes I cant speak for australia) They have a huge guilt about what happened in WW2 and so are extremely overly cautious about what they do/dont do to offend everyone right now..I just had a girl from Germany staying with us for a few weeks and we talked pretty heavily about this.
On the one hand they do need to atone for the mistakes made in WW2 but if all you do is apologize and dwell on the past transgressions you can never truly move forward.
When the largest most globally know atrocities have been commited by white people over the past couple hundred years than I would say that "white Guilt" is a fairly accurate representation of what is happening but "Global Fear of Misrepresentation" would be a better one.

The German people do not in fact have to atone for anything. It was one man, and he's dead. Leave history where it belongs, in the past.

I agree, the politicians need to grow up in both countries. I'm not saying it's the right thing just the reason why they are so harsh on media. I think it's silly.

whoa whoa whoa, one man? One man? There is such historical inaccuracy and over simplification in that statement it took everything I have to keep my head from exploding, let alone possibly explaining how incredibly flawed that idea is

One man is all it takes. actually one idea.
I agree we should leave history in the past, but somehow the ever growing neo nazi movement in America ran with that fuckers idea and taught their kids to believe it too. What is worse is they see the "tea party" glen beck worshippers and they've realized they can merge with these folks since their message to establish the same goals of their own, except where the old republicans stop with trying to get obama out of office, the nazis just go one step further and want him hanged. Its no secret that these rallies are 99.99 percent white people using some of the nastiest imagery i've ever seen in politics.
sorry, don't turn this into a political debate, i know i am not helping.

I really want a demo. I NEED A DEMO. I want to know if this game will be bad or not. Rouge Warrior pretty much got me paranoid, but it looks amazing.
Of course, with their whole "We can't say anything" deal, it'll probably come out after the game. Which I hope not. Because I need this. It's the only thing keeping me on the wagon right now.

Correct me if im wrong but arent these the guys that made the Alien Vs Predator game for the Atari Jaguar? That by far was the best version of AVP hands down. I always wanted a remake of that game and it looks like were getting one with this game as far as style goes (different classes, etc). I hope this game kicks ass... Extremely hyped.

Thanks for making a real Alien Predator game and not that PG-13 crap we got for a movie. If you're giving us an Alien Predator game bring on the skinned bodies and chest busters! Yeah baby, baby! Played this game in October at a game convention thing in Leeds, UK. Was insanely awesome! Out of all the games at the show, me and a friend spent our most time (pretty much all day) at their station. Obviously the gameplay was a little buggy at the time, but everyone viewing and playing was very impressed and its definitely something worth waiting and saving for (if you need to :). I'm really glad that all the content is staying as it was because it looked really impressive; getting stabbed through the stomach by the Aliens’ surprise attack, only to see its tail whip round and pull your eye out, was one of the most amazingly captivating stealth kills I've seen in a game. Gameplay wise it’s also really well balanced; though saying that my mate was the only guy to win as marines the whole day (of the first day), right at the end, heh but no surprises there.
