Ron Jeremy: games 'far worse' for kids than porn

I must agree with Ron, video games promote killing where as porn promotes sex, which is natural and how our parents actually created us..

I can understand where he comes from... The Porn industry, more than any other, has had more criticism thrown at it than all the others.

I think, or should I say; I'd like to think that he is referring to the simple fact that people who play games far more than they should, are not as active, and therefore it is considered unhealthy. Gaming should be part of a daily active lifestyle/routine...

That's not even close to true. I'm a marriage and family minor at my university and the effects of pornography in breaking up homes, men and women forging a bond with the pornography than other people (the chemical known as oxytocin is responsible for this), violent pornography (I looked up the term 'donkey punch'...I still feel sick to my stomach when I think of it) and the crime and drug abuse rates that correspond with pornography 'usage' are all far use than the "negative effects" of videogames. It's obvious he is uneducated - I mean, he's a porn star who obviously doesn't understand the industry that he's in.
The family and positive parental examples are crucial in entertainment selection, as well as drug and alcohol abuse patterns in later life. Pornography portrays more realistic violence (in some cases absolutely real) and harsh language than videogames do. While sex and sexuality are healthy to the human psyche and experience, violence against each other and the perversion of sex is damaging and has harmful effects outside of just one's personal life. These negative forces affect society at large.

So you'd rather let your kid watch some girl choke on Ron's dick instead of letting them play MW2? Interesting....

I have yet to find a study that conclusively links video games with violent behavior. Some people have social problems. Video games can only help coax them out at best. In other words, the condition is pre-existing, and has been around long since before video games.

Aaah, the much heralded "study" has shown "something." I do wish that there was someone there to ask, "Oh, Ron, which study was that?"

Sorry if this has already been said but did anyone think he might be trying to imply that BOTH arguments are ridiculous? I severely doubt he'd be legitimately blaming video games at CES of all places. I think he was trying to say that if you're going to say porn is bad, you might as well also say that video games are even worse, when really neither are evil like people make them out to be.

My friend had a seizure yesterday and this morning from spending too much time on video games. I'm with Ron on this one, guys.

What an idiot. Not only do studies show that violent video games do not produce blood thirsty menaces to society, studies DO show that being exposed to porn at a young age contributes to violent and sociopathic behavior later on in life.

It depends which parts of the spectrums you are comparing. I'd imagine skinimax softcore porn is probably less harmful to a kid than say: grand theft auto. But all in all, obviously this well endowed man is out to lunch. Anyway I'd love to see these psychology journals Ron is reading.

I totally agree with Mr. Jeremy. Pornography is harmless to children. Video games are only slightly more harmful.

Ok, lets assume the worst of both of these mediums for arguments sake. If we have kids who emulate what they see in porn what is the worst that can happen, maybe teen pregnancy increases, maybe they have sex at 15 instead of 17. Teen pregnancy is bad, I can see the concern.

Lets say kids emulate what they see in video games and go on a shooting spree killing their classmates in the process. Dead kids or teen pregnancy?
