Pokewalker accessory included in North American Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver

Today, Nintendo announced that the PokéWalker accessory, a Pokéball-shaped pedometer that interfaces with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, will be packaged with copies of the games when they arrive in stores on March 14. Nintendo had previously dated Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver along with the rest of its Q1 lineup, but it omitted mention of the accessory -- though the game's Amazon listing didn't.

The Pokéwalker allows players to earn "Watts" with their steps, which can be used both to catch Pokémon inside the device and unlock routes in the main game. In addition, the device enables wireless item trading between two Pokéwalker carriers. Gotta walk the mall to catch 'em all!

yes! i thought i was the only one who remembered the pikachu walker thing from back then.

I assume you know more Pokemon games and paraphernalia have come out in the past decade then the 90s.

Now all they need to do is confirm it for Europe and I will be happy, you can bet it will constantly be in my pocket everywhere I go.

I can't wait to sink in a bajillion hours into another pokemon game, I just get so engrossed in them.
Plus gold/silver had Kanto as well, so this will be even longer than diamond/pearl.

both Platinum and SoulSilver (japan import) took me 60 hours to beat the main story (+playing around and training Pokémons)
The Pokéwalker is cool but it's a pity that you can only level up 1 level per uploading your Pokémon to it

Theoretically you could lose an entire bajillion hours, but the game clock stops at 999:59.
I maxed my Pearl Version's clock back in April when I was breeding for the National Tournament.

AND I've hatched over 7,000 eggs without seeing a single shiny. It's bullshit.

I got a shiny Charmander a while ago. It had the nature and stuff to be EV trained into what I wanted. Now it's a kick-ass black Charizard!

I'm so flipping excited for this. I can combine my fitness and my video game addiction into one glorious amalgam of joy. Also, if you're lazy, just sit it on the washing machine. Thats what my buddy did with his old Pikachu Tamagochi-Gigapet thing.

What do you mean "if"? If there's no room for the Pokewalker, you probably need to invest in a larger bag instead of the game.

yes, all 493 Pokémons are compatible with it

I just attached my old Pocket Pikachu (essentially the same thing) to my dog's collar when I went to school (2nd grade?). Got home and had tons of steps (or watts now.)

It's the currency the Pokewalker uses. Basically used to unlock stuff within the PokeWalker.

this will be game of the decade for me. silver dominated my life when i got it. it's still my most well remembered game. i remember the first time i saw a sneasel and screamed "I GOTTA HAVE THAT!!!"

This made my day.

been playing pokemon since red and blue can't wait to get heart gold soul silver later down the line

wow though I live in NZ I'm gonna import this from the US so I can play it asap as the original G/S/C were the best games in the series and hey this will allow me to get EVERY single pokemon in the series so yea deffinate pick up for me as these will be the best games in the series what with all the extras, 2 regions and all the stuff from the original G/S/C

has any one figured out if th poke walker comes with a pokemon?
