During EA's half-hour investor callstravaganza yesterday, CEO John Riccitiello unleashed a flurry of game titles set to be released in the company's "FIscal 2011." For EA, that falls anywhere between April 1, 2010 and March 30, 2011 -- a window that now holds the release of "a great new version of Medal of Honor, a revitalized Need for Speed, Sims on console, FIFA in a World Cup year, an innovative and new take on Madden, Dead Space 2, Crysis at full margins, a new MMA game, and many others."
Considering this laundry list of games is getting little more than a 12-month window for release, we're taking the logical next step and throwing darts at images of the games on our cork-board calendar. According to our impeccable aim... everything is coming out in November. Not helpful!

FIFA in a World Cup year is all you had to say... cha-ching! (At least in Europe)

Yep. World Cup 2010 AND FIFA '11. Sounds like it will be VERY lucrative for EA.

Hell yeah. I'm waiting on Crysis 2 for sure. I hope they don't dilute the features that made the first game so fun though.

Yip...I can wait to see how the console version comes out. I also wish EA would shed some light on BLACK 2, the sequel was already confirmed last year and EA published the first one.

I find it funny that people keep referring to Medal Of Honor as a Call of Duty clone. I seem to remember Medal Of Honor coming out like 3-4 years before Call of Duty. In fact, my friends and I used to make fun of how lame Call of Duty was compared to Medal Of Honor. Medal Of Honor has always been better than Call of Duty period. The saving grace that came to the Activision series was in the form of Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer. The truth is Meadal Of Honor had an awesome single player game that was insanely short in Airbourne, and nothing since. Just check your facts before you go insulting the older series.

I think he means cloning in terms of the time frame (WW2 to Modern). Medal of Honor has always been a WW2 game. Only reason they are going to Modern times is because of the success of Call of Duty 4, and Modern Warfare 2.
If I was the head of EA, I would focus all the marketing and development efforts on the Battlefield series.

@ Wanta - EA isn't denying it, they're rather upfront about it. This game exists solely to grab a piece of the CoD pie. MoH faded, and fell off gamers radar with consistently mediocre releases, or releases that couldn't live up to the standards set by their competition. So while CoD started life as an MoH clone, there is no sense in denying that the tables have turned and MoH is going to have to clone (or better 1up) CoD, and that's exactly what EA has been saying.
Fun fact: the best MoH game (and arguably one of the best WWII shooters) was developed by the team that would later found Infinity Ward.

So you hope the game bombs...which in essence could lead to jobs being lost? I seriously doubt this would happen, but it's good to know that you support bad things happening to this industry. Without the gaming industry you wouldn't be able to play the games that you have.
If anything it's good healthy competition. Whatever makes a studio spend extra effort on a game to make a better user experience sounds good to me.

@NintendoJunkie
It is not the consumers job to keep the entire game industry afloat. Did you buy Tony Hawk Ride because you were afraid that those who made it would lose their jobs? Probably not.

@Troll - There is nothing wrong with EA treying to REGAIN their throne. Call of Duty was nowhere near as good until maybe Call of Duty Finest Hour came out in 2004. But in 2005 European Assault came out and blew that away. I'm not a hater, I was at the midnight launch for MW2. But I think that the only reason that they are switching to modern times opposed to WW2, is because the fans have been screaming that era is played out.

Does EA ever delay games? Because had this been any other company, chances would be one of those would be delayed into 1Q 2011.

A new take on Madden? Hmm...
I would hope (doubt it) that EA could push Medal of Honor out early, like July/August. It'd give it a better chance.

Either that or a new take on a Wii Madden game, especially considering all the stigma they got for their last iteration or two.

In other words, expect all computers to be obsolete by 2011, then up to date again by 2012.
I kid, I kid.
But Dead Space 2? Mother fucking hell yes! One of my favorite games so far this gen, and I'm not even a huge survival horror guy.

Haha, go ahead. Now I'm reminded of the KMFDM song that says: "Let's stop saying 'Don't quote me', because if no one quotes you, you probably haven't said a thing worth saying."

It also hasn't even been officially announced. They need to announce Mirror's Edge 2 with a bang, unlike the slow year-long trickle the original got until E3. An investor meeting isn't exactly the place to announce the sequel to my '08 game of the year.

Crysis 2 is gonna be on consoles right? Because I was never able to upgrade my computer enough for the FIRST game. Don't know how I feel about Medal of Honor, I definitely like the idea of using a real modern war instead of made up incoherent bullcrap, but i guess we'll have to wait for gameplay. Really excited for DS2, can't Goddamn wait! I hope they do more promotional stuff for it like they did with Dead Space Downfall

Crysis 2 is supposed to be on consoles, though it won't be as pretty as the PC version.

It's not fair to call 2 mediocre yet, but 1 definitely was. One of the prettiest games I've ever seen, with some of the best physics I've ever seen but man it was one extremely boring GAME. No awesome moments like in a COD game or even Killzone 2.

But really, Crysis was a really pretty game (if you could play it on maximum, that is), there's no denying that. But you shouldn't have a game that looks good without a decent story to keep the player motivated beyond "I wonder what thing will look good next".

My computer could run Crysis, so can my friend's which is where I played the game at. In fact, he ran it on Maximum with around 49 fps. So, running it wasn't the problem. And that didn't really affect the gameplay or storyline, only the graphics. Don't be a dipshit.
