Though IGN is calling the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands images it posted screenshots, we're not sure we buy it. They're absolutely pretty, but the amount of motion blur and polish we're seeing leads us to believe that these are way retouched. We've asked Ubisoft for clarification.
The bigger problem is, of course, that no matter what they are, the Prince doesn't look nearly enough like movie-Prince-to-be Jake Gyllenhaal. We need screens from this game to look so much like Jake Gyllenhaal that we're confused and worried for Jake Gyllenhaal's personal safety when we look at them. And no, we're not just trying to teach ourselves how to spell Gyllenhaal. Why would you say that?

As long as he's not listening to My Chemical Romance or Linkin Park in this and it's actually not terrible (I.E. - Two Thrones, Warrior Within) then okay.

Terrible? Only one game was terrible in this series and it was the new reboot. What a piece of shit.
Ubisoft =mediocrity at it's finest. I'm actually surprised AC2 came out decent.

Sands of Time did everything pretty much right and then Warrior Within came along and pissed all over everything and when Two Thrones came into the bathroom it just vomited and didn't even care if it was in the toilet or not.
Also this was a local rock band playing that was actually pretty decent and then some emo/scene kid went "WE NEED MORE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE" and they all started "moshing" by flailing their arms and prancing around. Then the vomiting happened because they drank too much of the kid's dad's alcohol in the basement fridge while he was out of town and the kid was like "let's open this without any repercussions at all!"

Opinions are really the only thing people have anymore. Everything here (besides cold hard fact on things) is an opinion. Reviews are an opinion, editorials are opinions. I voice mine here. It may not be what everyone wants to hear, but you can't really disqualify it at all. Just like you can't do for anyone else's opinion either, really. You just have to stick to your guns and hope someone out there realizes that you're not "trolling" but giving a rational look at a game or something past the hype and buzz and actually looks at the game/story/anything and judges it accurately for whatever pros and cons it has.
It just seems that I find more cons than pros in most games.

Personally liked the current-gen version. A LOT. Yes, it was pretty, but there is just something about it that really felt magical to me. A lot more than the ps2 games (although all pretty good games in their own right).

Honestly I could care less if they retouched the screens. I just want to play the game.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Especially in Prince of Persia's case.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? I hate thinly veiled comments such as these.
I'd like some facts to substantiate your ridiculous claim.

So, wait, we're saying that these screenshots might be doctored, cuz of motion blur? In a generation where motion blur has been a defining technique of bridging the gap between pre-rendered and realtime?
If anything, these look pretty underwhelming considering other games this generation.

Yeah, this screen looks like it could easily be made using the tech powering AC2. And I think that engine was what they used for the cartoony PoP and Splinter Cell Conviction, so it's a safe bet they'd use it for this.
I think a Sands of Time-esque reboot could be just what the series needs.

I would say I hope this is as good as Sand of Time.
But I already know a Prince of Persia game that good again will never happen.

Why does every website i go to they compare this game to the movie? It's not a movie tie in game. Hiphopgamer had an interview with the director of the game and he said it is not a movie tie in game...its back to the old story and good old prince is back.

God, this game brings so many memories. I was annoyed by the combat at times(even at the time) but the game was quite enjoyable. My favorite platformer/action game for that time.

is it me or is the Prince himself the worst looking thing in the 2 shots depicting him? he looks all jagged and horrid. the generic skeleton enemies look better than he does for gods sake. i dont have my hopes up for this title at all really. lets hope im surprised though.

These screens aren't bullshot at all. Screens 1-3 (top) game, screens 4-6 (concept). If you think this is bullshot then wait until you see Final Fantasy XIII.

I thought it was common knowledge that devs often doctored up screen shots? I seem to remember reading an article on that a while back.
