Are you afraid that Quantic Dream's PS3 adventure game is going to be lost in the Q1 flood of games? Our preview notes that the heavily story-driven game is missing mainstream appeal, something SCEA is trying to rectify with its American box art. As revealed on David Cage's Titter, the North American Heavy Rain box art does away with the simplicity of its European counterpart. While the origami bird still remains, the US box emphasizes Madison, wearing a form-fitting tank top, wet from what we can only assume is the titular heavy rain.
If we didn't know better, we'd assume this game was all about wet t-shirt contests. That should sound absolutely titillating to the average GameStop and Wal-Mart shopper, right?

David Cage's Titter? Is that a Freudian slip caused by the box art?

...why couldn't we get the European cover art?

Don't like it. I like the EU art way more. But I guess it's the only way they are gonna captivate more people to buy it.

It's funny because the word tit was used four separate times in this article.

Thanks SCEA. For a supposedly mature game, the L00K BEWBS approach to boxart is disappointing and more than a little insulting.
Have we learned nothing from Uncharted? The women in that game are likable without having to resort to T&A.

Hehehe, another hilarious typo. "Titter"? For real?

Titter FTW ;)
That box art, hot as those polygons may be, is terrible compared to the UK simplicity.
Man... that UK box art... Gorgeous.

I prefer this cover to the EUR one. It's basically the same thing just with the four characters On the front. It's not like she has a nighty, bunny ears and is in a pinup pose. It's an adult game with taboo subjects (see striptease at gunpoint scene) and this cover hardly detracts or misrepresents the games content. I'm so hyped for this game and I'm glad it's finally near release. Easily my third most anticipated with GT5 and FF13. Hope it exceeds the hype like AC2 & UC2.

Why do US releases always get the worst boxart of any market?

Wasn't going to buy it, but that rack totally changed my mind

I agree with johnnynumber5. Its not like she has a wet t-shirt on, a pair of DDs and a pitcher of beer. I like it. The simplistic nature of the EU cover has its own style, but seeing the main characters is cool, too.

Does anyone else agree with me that despite the manufactured good looks of the people on the cover, the heavy-set detective seems to have the most actual character? Maybe it's because his eyes are closed so he doesn't look super creepy - plus his age gives him a more distinguished, memorable appearance.

I was thinking similar things when I saw this. I think I might try to get the European version.

Is that four characters? The first and third look like the same guy with and without beard.
