I want my Japanese voice track with English subtitles. Ahh, it's Final Fantasy though. I really can't complain.

Learn Japanese if you're that anti-dub. Like countless others of your ilk hilariously attempt to do.

Not this brain dead bullshit again.

I suppose you would watch The Seven Samurai with a voice over if it had one.

SE should have just put the JP voice track in the PS3 version. I'm sure there's space on the disc for it.

Why all the hate? I am an avid watcher of anime and foreign films prefer the original voice track with subtitles because the voice actors were hired specifically for the character's emotions and personality. Besides I never stated it was I refuse to play because of an English track. Some people just need to grow up...

Even if there wasn't space, they could have it as an optional download... Damn asshats!

I agree that JP voiceovers with english subs should be an option. Other games do it, and there's probably enough space, so why not?
That way everyone can have their cake and eat it.

@Brad

But not on 360 :(

@Jacen

I don't think anyone said the American voice overs were bad. It's just preference. Pick up some anime and foreign films and see the comparison of English dub vs original voice track. It's atrocious most of the time. Translations are butchered along with the personality of characters, because it appeals more to the American audience. Again, it really is just preference.

foreign films are one thing, but anime uses the same process of finding characters in english to portray emotion as well, given not all are created equal. but fine, eat your pocky, continue to order anime figurines off the internet and i'll just sit quietly for being such a BAKA.

@Bradwart: No it doesn't because SE wanted both PS3 and 360 versions to be the same or it wouldn't be "fair"

Then things changed.

I am really getting tired of the 360's obsolete media format holding back games. Especially since it's been revealed that there was enough content cut for an ENTIRE NEW GAME. You can't tell me that wasn't as a result of being limited to 3 DVD's.

@Samuel Vimes:

Obviously, the original language of the game is important to you. instead of whining to the rest of us about how you and your kind desperately need a JP track, why don't you just learn Japanese and be done with it. It's what you want to know, right? for RAWs and import games?

Though that in itself is quite possibly the absolute lamest excuse to learn a new language.

@831 sons:

No one is bitching. Your prejudices of people who enjoy Japanese media seem to be deluding what's going on here.

He stated is a mere preference, which it is, and there is no need of attack. He hasn't shown any sort of rejection of his own culture and hasn't demonstrated that he "desperately" wants subtitles over a Japanese track. To sit there and criticize him and put him into your own "lose-lose" situation where's he's being stupid no matter what is rather disrespectful.

There's nothing wrong with preferring the original language track. It doesn't make you a "weeaboo" (which only applies to fanatics of Japanese culture anyway) and doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to just learn the language to continue enjoying the media. It's just an audible preference. Some people just like to hear it more. It's like when I see a Chinese film, I'd like it to be in Chinese. Same would apply to Italy or France or Germany.

Thanks Rage! You put it into good terms.

...Now excuse me while I eat my pocky, listen to my JRock, and polish my anime collectibles؟
