I love it when people try to make other people feel bad for choosing the 'easy' difficulty setting in games. As if that's going to sway their choice for playing on that setting.

I always go with the easiest setting. I don't play games to practice and be good at them. In fact whenever a game ever becomes frustrating, I question it's existence.

Unless it's something like a new installment in a first person shooter franchise (MW2), I typically play on the easiest difficulty first. Often I'm too anxious to find out what happens in the story, what cool shit gets thrown in later in the game, or I just lose interest in replaying a level/stage fifteen times because the game wants to challenge me. To me, that's what replays are for. If the game is good enough to merit wanting to play twice, the difficulty will be the price of admission.

The reason why I like megaman being incredibly hard is because nothing has ever got my blood pumping so fast. I have crashed cars, been in earthquakes and almost drown, but megaman takes the cake for making me say "NO NO NO NO NO!!! Noooo awww." and to take that away or provide a detour is a little neutering.

Personally, I'm a "Normal" difficulty kind of guy, although I'll kick it up another setting if there are four difficulty levels. I want a challenge, but I'm old and jaded enough to realize that being the best at a game doesn't mean anything outside of comparing achievements/trophies on my friend list. People like the Dueling Analogues guy (apparently) is one of those types who consider gaming "their thing", resent the rise of casual gaming, the success of the Wii, and the fact that other people can complete the same Megaman game as them while trying 1/10th as hard with an Easy mode.

I'm not trying to say that I feel bad for them for being so invested in something so trivial, because I'm not trying to slander their passion for gaming... but I do feel it's a ridiculous thing to be snide about. Someone else playing on easy mode somewhere in Wisconsin does not cheapen your hard mode experience at home.

I've been starting everything on Hard mode first time through, because games have in general become easier over the years. Problem is, with the advent of regenerative health, the harder modes are merely more cheap most of the time, and thus, less fun than a legitimately difficult game, like Mega Man.

I have no problem with Easy Modes even in games like Mega Man, as long as they don't make a great franchise's Normal or Medium modes more easy than they used to be. That's what pisses me off.

That would be more original than Chill Man. That's a complete rip from Mega Man X's Chill Penguin.

Chill Man? Really? I'd gig em for looping over and reusing ideas but I knew they weren't trying anymore when they came up with the guys like Dust Man and his dreadful powers of asbestos. Also, I don't care what people think of me playing on easy.

Dust Man wasn't Capcom's idea. The Robot Masters from 2-6 were designed by children, winners of contests.

@Samfish:
There already was a Shark Man, sort of. He was in the noncanon PC Mega Man III, and Mega Man Battle Network,

I gotta admit, these new robot masters seem a little bit...shark jumpy.
Like, they should have Shark Man and Mega Man has to jump over the sharks he shoots from his Shark Cannon.

I'm still buying it Day 1, though! It'll still be awwwwesome~!

Hey! I totally called these guys. http://www.infendo.com/2009/12/17/mega-man-10-trailer-makes-me-feel-10-again/#comment-75177 And two of them I even had down to their names (Chill Man and Blade Man). Then I had four more's themes (I predicted Water Man, Speed Man, Torch Man, and Sports Man). Commando Man was the only one I missed. (I guessed Sand Man.)

Either way, robots don't have a gender, so even if designed to resemble a specific sex, it's technically androgynous.

I agree with the video and disagree with many of the comments. If you're just going to dive right into Easy Mode, you might as well not play the game at all. Mega Man games are suppose to be challenging, and not a ridiculous type of challenge like you see in many modern games, but the kind of challenge where you feel a slight sense of accomplishment for being able to overcome.

I hope the achievements won't unlock if you're playing on Easy Mode, you should have to play on Normal Mode or higher, but there should not be any achievements for clearing Hard Mode. That mode should only exist for players that want to personally challenge themselves further.

That's a problem, how exactly? Not everyone jumps through the doors. There was no block he had to jump to reach it, so why would he jump?

Why are people complaining about Mega Man 10 having an Easy Mode? Mega Man 2 had an easy mode. In America it was called Normal mode, but in Japan, our Normal Mode was their Easy Mode, our Difficult Mode was their Normal Mode, therefore Mega Man 2 had an Easy Mode. How is this such an issue with Mega Man 10? If Mega Man 2 is ****ing great like everyone seems to think it is (*cough*3rules2*cough*), then MM10 having an Easy Mode shouldn't matter. Use it or don't.
