Square's free-to-play MMO Fantasy Earth Zero coming to US

As hinted at by a trademark filed late last year, Square Enix's microtransaction-supported MMO Fantasy Earth Zero will find its way to the US later this year, thanks to a partnership with Japanese publisher Gamepot. Fortunately, it seems the game will retain its free-ness on its journey to the West. We imagine it will also retain its focus on crystals and pointy-hatted mages, but that's just us speaking from our prior Squeenix experiences.

Gamepot is a Japanese MMO publisher. They started off with the Japanese version of PangYa. It's news to me that they have a US branch, though.

Title sounds an awful lot like "Phantasy Star Zero"...

But looks like Fantasy Earth Live which then went to Microsoft, canceled, than back to square.

While that's good and all, I don't see how that has anything to do with this game, aside from the "Zero" in the title.

Sweet, this is good news for me. I've been interested in this game for a long time, so it'll be good to finally check it out.

Looks like Fantasy Earth Live from 2004 which was canceled and then went to Microsoft under the name True Fantasy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_I5j256vDY), canceled again, than back to square as Fantasy Earth Zero.

I don't have much faith in this living to see the light of day. But it would be nice to actually have it finished.

I do see a few similarities I suppose.
True Fantasy has been officially canceled though, and Fantasy Earth Zero has been out for almost 4 years now in Japan.
