Yep. Just like my GO. Bought it and 2 weeks later it was leaked the PSP2 is coming out next after the 4000 model. Whoopidido!

Seriously though, I'm growing tired of all these iterations of handhelds. I understand they want to improve it, but if the PS3 had so many different versions (no, not HDD space, I'm talking about fat vs slim) people would be up in arms.

You basically get punished for buying the first model handheld, no matter what company you choose. I thought Sony would break away from Nintendo's formula on that one, but instead the replicated then 1uped them.

PS:

Not to be mean or anything, but do you sit in your car and make scary pictures of your angry face just for making an avatar on a joystiq comment board?

PPS:

I normally wouldn't say that, but the safety of the anonymity of the net is comforting.

PPPS: wearing blackberry earpieces bring the intimidation factor down a notch or two. Real scary people talk on their actual cell phones while in the car.

Sony does catch flack for the numerous SKUs they have had. Nintendo on the other hand can get away with it because....well they can.....too bad they don't do the same with their consoles....I've been waiting on Wii Colors for a while now. I mean sure I had a Red N64, a Green N64, and a black N64 but that was over a decade ago....all I want now is a black Wii...that too much to ask?

as for taking pictures for Joystiq......uhhh no...my pictures are on numerous Social sites as well as in digital picture frames in my house, sent as MMS to people etc......

who in the hell takes pics JUST for Joystiq?

Well with the DS theres really only 2 versions. The DS and the DSi, the DS Lite and XL are just minor differences not worth upgrading to unless you have a ton of spare money. It's not like with PSP where they keep adding new crap.

I hope in time there'll be some more neutral colors to choose from later, like black.

I get the whole "it's for grandmas, so lets make it BROWN", but come on. Not all old people are stuck with a taste pre-World War One.

I used to have a brown Zune and was upset that the newer Zunes didn't have brown as an available color.

I'll be picking up the brown DSi XL if that color is available in the US.

"the system will launch in Wine Red and Dark Brown"
Brown isn't brown? I'm guessing red isn't red and black isn't black either in your world. I'm not even going to go there.

Also, I don't care if you like it better or not, I never wanted "brown" to go away, I wanted additional colors.

sorry, thought you were commenting on the one in the picture

either way, how are "brown" and "wine red" bad colours? not everything has to be black and white and neon blue. these colors are way better than any of the DSi colors

I know I'm not relevant anymore, but I just wanted to say Hi... I still chat everyday with my good Joystiq friends tho: Sheppy, Noshino, Gun Barrier, ThornedVenom, Josh, Moptimus Slime... and many more... even tmac is in our little chat group.

I miss to be a Joystiq commenter... =p

Babel...

Well, I know sheppy left the comment section for that very reason... the comment section is not what it used to be... a lot of trolls now...

I know I used to be the biggest Sony troll around the 2006-2007, but the people who knows me knows that I changed a lot and became kinda neutral.

Sadly, the new trolls are fond of trolling other commenters rather than consoles. Which means they're in EVERY thread. Huzzah. Having said that, I think people easily forget that there have always been douchebags in the comments (I remember Flying Spaghetti Monster and some other witty chaps).

Still, Joystiq comments are often pretty hilarious, especially when everyone is united against some crap from Greenpeace or the guy who sues everyone. So some good times.

Fernando, me ol' ally.
How are you mate?

You got divorced?
(didn't even know you married)
well, hope your happier.
Was it that girl in the pic in your
emails?

I do get your emails by the way
but not being on social networking
sites; it makes little sense accepting your
invitations.

anyways, risking a downvote by not being on
topic and all.

glad to see you back.

p.s. even I have gone a bit neutral - fanboy wise.
some might even say anti-nintendo *gasp*
we've come a long way sine the NDF days.

Sometimes I think Joystiq should silence all comments that contain certain words or phrases that are key to fanboy arguments. Things like "Sony Shill", "Xbox sux", or anytime "Wii" and "kiddie" are used in the same sentence.

Oh, and welcome back. Never really commented on your posts too much, but I do recall seeing you around before.

I really should get on MSN more often, but most of my time is divided 'twixt here and VGChartz, and, you know, life.

I'm not joining facebook, though. The last thing i need is another timesink to add on to those (and a way for all my high-school acquaintances who are better left behind to find me again).

I notice the stylus is getting bigger with each iteration of DS. By 2014 we'll all be using javelins. Count on it.

As for the DSi XL, I'm content with my standard DSi/GBA:SP combo, so no sale here.

Boo, no White? I was hoping to get it in white to match my DS Lite and DSi. Oh well. I'm a bit undecided about which to get between Wine Red and Dark Brown. Brown looks like black, I'd like to see it close up to see just how brown it actually is.

Hmm... I kinda like the wine red color. If I didn't already have a DSi (and if I didn't know about the DS2 annoucement rumors), I might invest in one. I particularly like that they've moved to a larger pen-sized stylus. I don't use the ones that came with the current DSi (or the DS lite) because they're too small and make my hands cramp up.

Speaking of hand cramps, I got some horrible ones playing the TMNT arcade game on 360 this morning. Good times.
