EA soliciting ideas for Dead Space 2 'Collector's Edition'

EA is informally considering a limited edition release of Dead Space 2 (surprise!) and has taken to Facebook to get some ideas from fans about what to include in it. "I will have our Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis comment on some of your suggestions next week," the announcement reads, " ... so make them good!"

Presumably, Papoutsis will select his favorite suggestions -- already ideas are as tame as comics and as outrageous as a life-size plasma cutter -- and submit them to EA, which will then toss those out and proceed with a Collector's Edition featuring a soundtrack and an artbook.

Before someone uses them to cut a cake?! I accidentally bumped the collector's edition package for DS2, and the damn cutter went off and shot through the box, between my legs (not through, thank god), and well... turned the guy behind me into a lady!

I love videogame soundtracks, so I have no problem with them throwing that in. Though I would like something 'extra', kinda like Insomniac did with the Hybrid-action figure included in Resistance 2's Collector's Edition. Hell, I would love to get an Issac Clarke action figure.

Action figures with a CE are always a win in our house.

I wish they had action figures for Dead Space like the gears of war ones where figures have heads in the process of exploding or bodies being chainsawed. Imagine how awesome an isaac being dismembered figure would be!

I wish they made action figures like the Gears of War one where they;re in the middle of something, i.e. locust with exploding head or locust being chainsawed by Marcus. Imagine an Isaac being dismembered by necromorph figure! Yeah!

Yea I think it'd be cool if they had figures of the ways Issac dies in the 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' trailer. Seeing him getting his leg cut off, or being smashed to pieces by the brutes. I don't know how'd I'd be able to sleep with that on my nightstand, but it would be cool nonetheless.

I'd like a scale Isaac helmet to go next to Master Chief, although since not even ODST did that : ( i guess id settle for an action figure. Of course the regular bonus stuff, hopefully some good free dlc, maybe more Dead Space Downfall? Or like a making of dvd presented from the viewpoint of an ishimura crewmember?

I really, really wanted an ODST helmet in an ODST Limited Edition. Then I would have wanted a MK V helmet for Reach, of course.

It should come in a giant Isaac boot replica. It'd be the most horrifying packaging known to man.

Do PC version of games get CE's? Because I loved the first one on the PC, and am planning on buying this one for the PC as well.

The game should come in a replica of Isaac's helmet. I'd buy the hell out of that, if it's wearable. And lights up.

Give them a little more credit than that... I own one of the 1,000 Ultra Editon Dead Space that were released, and it's one of my favourite collector's editions.

How about a copy of the Dead Space animated movie on BD for the PS3 edition? I missed that the first time around.

I would like the collector's edition game to come with all the game.

None of this "oh we just didn't have time to put this DLC in, or add this different colored armor even though we had time to add integrated in-game pointers to the content."

One price. All the game. Because that my friends is becoming a rare case. It doesn't get more collectible than that now.

1. That really is still extremely rare, and if it isn't it's usually inconsequential bullshit like the Dem Bones map on Arkham Asylum. 2. It certainly gets more collectible than that, i'd wager you don't really even know what that word means!

You think that scenario is a rare case? You need to play more games, because I can think of several big names that applies to right now and it will only become more commonplace this year.
