It's amazing what mismanagement can do. I've worked for several companies in the past that fell apart because of a ripple effect from the top downwards. If projects are managed correctly, there's no reason anyone should have to lose earned vacation time. I'd be pissed, too.

Rockstar is going to get some little asian kids, teach them some programming and pay them $1 an hour to make their games.

As the biggest fan of the two Max Payne games, I am distraught: this is NOT what I wanted out of a sequel. The fact that they're allegedly rewriting the whole game for the umpteenth time (or third, whatevs) is especially worrisome: the narration was excellent, especially in the first, and if that's gone, I don't see myself falling in love with it.

Please Rockstar, sort your self out and put your best foot forward. It takes love to make a game, and apparently love is quite rare and the Rockstar household.

I hope Mr Khan now sees what I was talking about the other day when I said Take Two and Rockstar are poorly run companies.

But even without this, we can simplify it. If your company releases something that prints money like GTA 4, and you still end up losing money? You're doing it wrong, as they say.

A lot of companies do this, especially ones with working stiffs. When I used to work at a fast food franchise when I was younger, I used to work 5 or 6 days a week, sometimes for 14 hours straight, most of the time with no break

...oh and the management used to tell me they hated me all the time...that too.

Mismanagement at Rockstar is nothing new it has been a very old problem at the group. About 2 or 3 years ago I read the blog of a developer who worked at Rockstar on GTA marketing and he described the complete chaos the top brass would instigate coming down from on high and making sweeping changes with little notice and other stuff that drove all the employees mental.

Unfortunately I cant remember the blogs address only that I came across it through gamesetwatch (a developer site) and the blog has a neon pink background.

The level of mismanagement is also probably why 2K barely makes any money, Rockstar waste all of it while at the same time 2K relies on them to make most of the money through GTA.

Im starting to think the problem is with Rockstar. I mean. Take Naughty Dog for example. When they were developing Unchartd 2 their staff worked on at least 16 hour days for weeks on end. They never had problems like this. I think because, if you look on the developer intervews they gave, they really do love their job. The atmosphere was relaxed. I personally think Rockstar has gotten WAY to big for its boots and its games are suffering

If I don't hear about workers conditions improving or someone debunking these sources, I won't be buying these games.

I didn't buy MW2 because they spit on PC gamers... it will be a lot easier to pass up Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3.

In the end, all that matters are the reviews and weather it's a good game or not. I won't make my judgments on a product just because a few developers that got laid off or quit feel like complaining. Who knows what other good games have gone through during development. I'll make my final judgment when it releases.

It is like when a company starts to shine, make money and get the admiration of the people, the Money'O alarm sounds somewhere and someone has to screw it all.

It may be because of promotions for people who do not really deserve it, or maybe because the company gets the attention of people who put money and do not fucking care of people... who knows.

Put a great artist with a great portfolio and passion for videogames into a pipeline where he/she has to re-do the work several times a week, depend on a manager who has no damn idea what a normal map is, push him to work more hours than the brain can handle and without any clear direction and then give him excuses when it is money-time talking, and then you will be totally fucking a life. For me that is not very different from shooting someone in the face, it is just a bit slower.

Honestly it sucks for rockstar, this and RDR are all in the air and apparently are not looking to good, it sucks cause I always liked rockstar but if this is how they run things im starting to doubt my desire to buy eaither title.

And honestly how could the next Max Payne be any good, I mean bullet time just seems boring to me, and that was max paynes stick' that and comic style story telling but if im buying this for the ps3 I almost want real cutscenes, and the whole don't know if its real parts in M.P one and two I have seen done in Condemned and other titles.

So what can Max Payne 3 bring to the table?
