Great post, I love when you take a story with not much to it and do some hilarious stuff based on it.

Actually, I may be wrong. I think it can go both ways, but originated as "bush league".

Considering that they have to liscense two tracks and have someone mix them for mashups, it costs alot more money to make the songs. This isn't just buying the rights to a song, obtaining masters, and charting it. This is buying the rights to the two songs, having a DJ mix the tracks and then charting it. Now, this doesn't apply to non-mashups, but given as the game is 90% mashups, this is more relevant.

Then you have to add in the smaller audience that will buy the DLC, and the fact that the game is so new people will be too busy with the on disc tracks to really bother with DLC.

And then the fact that DLC is not just "Download my favorite song" or anything like that in GH/RB/Lips/Singstar. For the most part, these are completely new mixes.

DLC on DJ Hero is a HIGH RISK investment and they need to get DJ Hero out there first. And honestly, DLC is not they need to be doing with DJ Hero yet. They need to refine the experience, improve the menu interface, and most importantly: make it more multiplayer friendly.

And that's why i said they need find a way. That's the only thing that's killing me with this game, and the reason i had my girl get it for me for xmas, and not pay for it myself. It's a shame this game didn't sell that well,it's truly a fun game.

@ Hafkie

I understand and agree on all your points... It is a ton of work, and it is more complicated than the standard weekly additions to RB or GH. No one is arguing that point with you... but why could that work not be done for DLC?

Price is the only limitation I can see, just because people might not want to pay more than the standard $2 for GH or RB songs. So they can charge a bit more. You get two songs in the mixes, so charge $4 or whatever.

If Activision wanted to support the franchise, they should not throw the first version under the bus. They should step back and show it a bit of DLC love. Menu tweaking and everything else can be addressed with a patch, too, but that wouldn't happen in an ATV game.

When you say that about Guitar Hero, you are making a decent point about the number of games.

When you say that about DJ Hero, you are just being a douchebag. As of right now, there is only one game that can use that turntable controller. A new game is NOT a bad thing at all.

Actually, if Activision wanted me to buy the next Guitar Hero game (I've hated the series ever since Neversoft started developing it), they'd do the opposite of what DJ Hero had; whereas that game had about ten songs that supported using a guitar, how about in Guitar Hero 6 (or whatever you end up calling it), you put in about the same amount of songs that support the turntable?

In any case, after how fantastic this first game has been, I'm heavily anticipating the sequel. Although I hope that for this recruiting they're doing that, as unlikely as it would be, they would get Renard of Lapfox Trax on this; after being featured in Audiosurf radio last month, this would be an incredible new development. But again, highly unlikely.

Why not just demand DLC for the game you already bought?

Because I'll take 93 songs for $60 any day over DLC that is $3 per song.

I'd personally love Girl Talk in the next one or atleast some DLC but the amount of songs used in any given mix would cost 3 arms and 14 legs
