First-Person Tetris will spin you right round, baby, right round

Do you like Alexey Pajitnov's timeless puzzler Tetris as much as you like succumbing to unrelenting waves of nausea? You'll probably want to check out the new Flash-based sensation, First-Person Tetris. There's not much of a learning curve, here -- it operates pretty much exactly like the block-dropping puzzler you know and love, only with a small twist. We'll let you figure it out for yourselves -- why not give it a spin, provided you've got some free time (and a strong, strong stomach).

I've already spent some time today playing this awesome game...

I have, within arms reach, 3 of the most powerful cons... 2 of the most powerful consoles ever built and a Wii (Cue Roger Daltry's "YEEEeeeaaaahhh!!!!"). And what do I spend my time doing? Playing flash versions of the world's oldest & best puzzle game, Tetris. That's a neat version there... Actually works well with the "night mode" turned on. Made it all the way to level 3 with that baby.

Phoenix... if you have a ps3, 360 and wii. (im presuming yo do)

this game gave me some serious motion sickness... @_@

At the risk of being THAT guy, I'd like to point out that technically it's called simulation sickness since you're not actually moving.

Anyway, yeah, I felt it too. This and Mirror's Edge are the only two games I've played that have made me feel sick.

same my head keeps rotating with the screen.

I never get sick with these things but I always get motion sickness on rides and stuff... wonder why that is.

Should try playing Durandal on the 360 then :|

Also, Night Mode is way more headache inducing than the normal mode.

Really? I actually found night mode to be much easier to play, once the first block dropped and i was able to get my frame of reference.

How is that "first person", I thought it would be 3D with myself as a falling block..

What has been seen can not be unseen. T'was an old joke in my school, everyone said go on to it, it has amazing flash games. I was about 13 at the time. It was possibly the worst moment of my life. xD

after level five was too dizzy to continue :D
but the soundtrack rules... brings back the joyful times of 8bit

The blocks spin the wrong way.

And the game itself seems 1 block too wide, but maybe that's me.

Took only a couple minutes to make me dizzy. But nothing will make me feel worse than the dizzy level from yoshi's island.

They (the IP holder of tetris) should consider adding this feature to the NExt Tetries game.... as its quite a Twist to the Normal Tetris.

Oh and yeah I got a little dizzy... made it to level 2 though :-)

When I first played this I thought, "This is dumb! It's just a picture of a TV with stupid normal Tetris! How is this first person? Like as if you're in someone's body playing Tetris on their mid 90s TV?"

Then I hit SPACE.

yeah, i wouldn't really consider it first-person view. i was expecting a block's view looking down for some reason. it's more like third-room view? i dunno.

A lot of the conventions of tetris seem to be off here. Can't quite put my finger on why...

(OTHER than the fact that you are spinning a room, obviously).
