Sweet, I loved the Zero games. It was a return to what makes Megaman awesome, not all that RPG card-playing trading game crap it's spawning. I want wall jump and a gun with unlimited ammo.

Agree whole heartedly, this was an awesome series. I have all 4 cept the first (lost it) and both ZX and ZX advent. This is a good way to get all four again without having to track down old used GBA games.

I'm definitely hoping for a special edition DSi for this!
Either Zero 1 or 2 has been in my DS Slot 2 for the past several years.
Definitely my favorite Megaman games. Man, the music was so good in Z2...

great games.

i hope they do a Megaman X collection that encompasses the x1-x6
and hopefully start going back to the megaman x/zero roots and making more games like those

Considering the DS can do ports of N64 games and the system generally excels at 2D games, the DS easily could handle every Mega Man X title except a straight port of X7 and X8 (which were not in the MMX Collection anyway).

I'm sure Capcom could do a crappy N64-esque de-make of MMX7 and MMX8 for a DS collection.

Just saying it's possible.

a DS cartridge is 128MB. The largest one made which was a Japanese title was 256MB. Megaman X4 alone is larger than that (around 300MB I think), so it technically isn't possible to release a X collection on DS.

Your best bet would be to get an old PS2 and buy the collection if you can find it.

I posted this but it didn't work as a reply so it got added at the bottom -_-

Your reply worked.
and if they can't do an X-collection they could just release them separately or as a download for my flashcart.

i do own the PS versions, its just i like to play on da go.

Ye - gads! The 4 Zero games were my favorite Mega Man games, hated to see the series die... Probably won't pick this up though, already own them on GBA.

Yeah, it's better if you keep the GBA ones, cause they work with Zx. I mean sure if that has extra stuff I'll buy it, but I don't see this getting me extra stuff in Zx.

Mega Man ZX is a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Zero series, which is pretty apperent considering they use the same exact art style. They all have that kinda-Metroid style of gameplay instead of the conventional character select screen style of the original MM and MMX.

If you include the two ZX games, you could say the Mega Man Zero series has six games. Not too shabby, and it ended on a high note, rather than go the crappy route like other series (*cough* Sonic).

Eh...the ZX games were CLOSE to what the Zero games were but I wouldn't go so far to say ZX was Zero 5 and Advent was Zero 6. I also wouldn't call Advent a high note. Zero 4 was great though.

The ZX series had a lot of key differences to Zero games though. The elf system was gone, missions were no longer selectable (they were in the Zero series), bosses had critical hit zones, and the entire bio-metal system was far different from anything the Zero series had, not to mention the main character was NOT Zero. I'd say these are enough differences to call them separate series's.

Which they really need to bring back imo. Last I heard, a new Golden Sun was in the works for DS so it's likely that they might bring back the old ones in time for release. I'd definitely pick that up. ...I guess MMZ is cool too.

Ugh, I remember purchasing Mega Man Zero... that game was way too tough for me! I don't even think I could complete one level!

Maybe this compilation can offer an "easy mode" so us "less elite" gamers can enjoy it more. Otherwise it's yet another Mega Man game that I'll have to pass on...

When going by Amazon's prices, you're not suppossed to go by that seller "Hitgaming Video Games" prices. That seller basically rapes gamers on prices. If you look at the very next seller, the prices are reasonable.

I don't know how this "Hitgaming Video Games" seller got to be the default seller for games that Amazon itself does not carry. Bribery, perhaps? But their prices are not the "real" prices that those games are going for. You can grab the PS2 version of MMX Collection for around $35.

OMG! This is awesome! I love the MegaMan Zero series. Maybe after releasing this they might continue the story to full in the gap between MegaMan Zero 4 and MegaMan ZX.

Now all I need is a MegaMan X1-8 collection... *hint hint Capcom*

Yeah about that--I only was intrigued by the story arc until after X5. X6 was the beginning of the end for me.

SPOILER ALERT

from what can be deduced from X4 and X5 (and maybe even X2 depending on how you interpret Sigma's death comment) Dr. Wily built Zero. Wouldn't it have been nice if Zero actually did what he was programmed to do and become a true villain? Silly as this sounds, I kind of felt bad for Dr. Wily after seeing him fail so many times-it would have been neat if Zero was his only true success.

I think that was because of his fight with Sigma who destroyed the part of Zero that was responsible for Wily's control. So basically he was a success, but with the control broken he could think for himself. Then he joined the Maverick Hunters and yeah... You probably know the rest.

but not the X7,X8

Maybe a x1-x3 then a x4-x6

or at least the remade version of megaman x that was released on psp...just in ds format

The Zero series is my favorite of the various Mega Man games. Definitely the most challenging (if you don't use cyber elves). I'd be tempted to buy numerous copies of this just in hopes of spurring Capcom to make a sequel.

Not a bad idea. The Megaman Zero series was a great followup to the 2D scrolling platforming in the older Megaman games. I don't know what Capcom was thinking with MM7 and 8, but it wasn't clearly

A Megaman Zero collection, huh? I'd probably buy it (damn me for being such a Megaman Maniac), but I'd really hope it'd have some cool extras beyond just direct ports of the originals. Maybe higher-quality sound? Alternate playable characters? Art galleries? OST?

That's what I've been waiting for for ages!
I already own the 4 GBA games, but if they add only one tiny extra or more stuff to unlock (possibly by achieving goals across all 4 games) I'll buy it with no regrets. The Zero series was easily my favorite Megaman series, so I'll take any motivation they give me to play it again even if it means that I have to relive the ending of the 4th game once more.
Also I'm still hoping they release this collection for the big screen via WiiWare, XBLA or PSN with updated resolutions. That would be even better.
