Troll or not he's right, DLC selections have been weak as of late on all fronts. Lets light a fire under their asses and get them to bring out something we actually asked for. No more Petty, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, or Nirvana (unless its the original track for Come as You Are). There's enough of that. I'm also tired of these live track cop-outs. The crowd overdubs make up for any live blunders they have put out. Come on ppl we need more great stuff and less "meh".

I have nothing against live music, but can't they release the studio versions?
Who the hell is Phoenix and Silvertide?
When is the Rock Band Network coming out?
Are they going to release more music for The Beatles: Rock Band?
When is Rock Band 3 coming out?
Is the Who, U2, Queen, or Pearl Jam getting their own game or just packs?

I know its alot of questions, but Harmonix owes us alot of answers.

I don't know who the hell Silvertide are but Phoenix are a pretty good power pop band. They've been around for a while, I don't own any of their albums, but every song I've heard of theirs is pretty good.

Please don't call Phoenix a power pop band. Because that makes them sound like Britney Spears or N'sync. They are a Indie Rock Band and a fucking awesome one at that.

"Indie rock" is such a bland term. Most bands by simple definition are "indie".

Phoenix are electronic, dance, pop, rock, awesome.

Yeah, well I was a fan since the guitarist played with Daft Punk!

...actually not really, I was a fan since "Too Young" was on 'Shallow Hal'. They got huge when that song turned up on 'Lost in Translation', but I can't believe how popular they got this year. I bought tickets last week to see them, those tickets sold out immediately after (only 6 minutes!) I got them.

Don't hate on Power Pop. There is a distinct difference between Pop and Power Pop. Bands like Big Star, The New Pornographers and even The Who (Pete Townsend coined the term) are Power Pop bands. I would feel okay calling Phoenix a power pop band...though I haven't before.

I would argue for Love Like A Sunset yeah, but since it has no vocals and I love singing in RB it wasn't really a song for the track pack :P

this is what makes harmonix so great with their choices for dlc, just as the 20 free songs pack introduced me to between the buried and me (who have become one of my favorite metal bands and i cant wait to see live at the end of the month) hearing these two phoenix songs is making me want to go out and buy their album. this should be bigger incentive for other bands that are more reluctant to include their music in rhythm games to go ahead and do so, since it would probably garner them some new fans.

Wow, Silvertide. They were a great band, in the vein of Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses. Problem is their label took forever to put the album out, and lack of advertisement. Kind of surprised they're on Rock Band as a result.

I had never heard of phoenix til recently. One of my friends played their album (Wolfgang Amadeus) nonstop. I learned to like it, and I really like three of the songs from it now (Listomaniza, Fences, 1901). 1901 is probably my favorite.

If you've never heard of them or the songs, check it out on youtube. Not that bad!

Hey Eric, don't worry about folks calling Phoenix a pop band, they kind of our a pop band, it's a sad shame that the 90s and 00s have demonized the word "pop" to the point where it exclusively means Britney Spears & N*sync as opposed to the days where the term would describe The Beatles, The Kinks, and David Bowie. I agree I'd put Phoenix specifically under Indie Rock/Indie Pop but the only reason I bring this up is that it kind of reinforces stereotypes about the folks who like indie music, even though I realize your intentions were good and only to differentiate.

Phoenix are definitely a great band, totally agree with you there, saw that 1901 & Lisztomania would be headed to Rock Band this morning and was overjoyed, they had one of my favorite albums of 09. It's nice to see everyone is so excited as well, it's good to see this band has finally broken through.
