Which Tekken game had Simon Phoenix in it? Yeah, that's right, I made a reference to Demolition Man, but only because someone in the costume department is a big Snipes fan circa 1993.

To be blunt at the very least, it's a freakin' tournament. Any fighting game movie should be based on the very thing the game is based on. I will watch this. It looks like it could do the game justice.

If G4 were to show an entire day of fighting-games-turned-movies (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, King of Fighters, Tekken) I would take back some of the bad things I said about them. I can't help it, I like bad martial arts movies.

First, everyone has a favorite character who they feel is a lead character and must be represented well.
Second, Most movies are a hour and a half long, they can't fit in every detail to flush out the "proper" storyline in that time without making it a 4 hour long epic.
Third, its a fighting game to being with hence really didnt have much of a deep storyline to begin with.
I most likely wont watch it in theaters unless bored and if I do it will be on a Sat/Sun durring the afternoon (re:cheap movie times hehe). If all else I'll buy it on Blue Ray and hope for alot of extra content.

As of Tekken 3 Jin was the main protagonist. By Tekken 5, I think he became the primary antagonist though. Frankly I don't know who we're supposed to root for. Kazuya's definitely evil, and Jin seems to be following in Kaz' footsteps.

Oh and as I said in a recent post about the Chun-li movie, they need to stop trying to squeeze every character into on film. When you have these franchises where the character roster hits 40+, there's no way to do everyone justice. Stick with a small cast - three to four good guys and three to four bad guys. You don't need everyone to show up. Maybe a cameo, but they don't actually have to be in it.
Too bad they couldn't have gotten Jackie Chain to play Lei. That would've been awesome.
