I left it unused [and prvly everyone else] because of the massive learning curve

I mean when i started playing i got shot from like 100 different angles and i didnt see even one of the players that shot in the first place

maybe they can fix that with a better ranking system

Yeah I couldn't muster the patience to play it either, just way too generic. Couple of my friends played it a couple of times and they all went back to MW2.

I totally forgot about that
if MAG gets released any time during this year it will be left totally underplayed because Modern Warfare has all the FPS fans now

Wtf...I was searching for info on bonus preorder stuff for MAG and found an article here on joystiq:

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/09/sony-details-mag-pre-order-bonuses-where-to-get-what/

This is what SpyderTaco had to say back then:

"SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 9th 2009 2:11AM

Pre-ordered the day after I jumped into the beta. I'll have to keep my eye out for the voucher, unless it comes with the game at launch (like Prince of Persia).

SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 9th 2009 11:19AM

Before the beta I was very skeptical, but I was also hopeful because I knew the Zipper team was behind the project. Actually, I had passed on the whole concept because I often find online shooters to get old rather quickly, but long after the launch of the beta I'm still really enjoying it."

And now all of a sudden you've only played it for one hour and then sold your PS3? Either you have some kind of multiple personality disorder or you're just full of shit. I would opt for the last option...

He was a Sony fanboy back then, and they're well known for supporting every exclusive that PS3 gets whether they like the genre/game or not.

Fair enough, I'll give you points for honesty. But I don't see how your view of the game could change that much. I didn't play the early Beta back in September but from what i understand the game has gotten better since then.

With no experience with the game, I preemptively would choose S.V.E.R. because the logo looks way awesome. I mean, a mountain? Fuhget about it! A hawk? Whatever. A badger? Fuck yea.

As soon as i heard the kiddies say "SVER sux, RaV3n FTW!!11!!11", i hatched an idea. I would join this SVER PMC and avoid the uglies. Plus they wear sneakers, thats so cool!

Seriously. Really the reason I joined SVER is simply that Valor is too bland and Raven is guaranteed to be filled with those I'M SO GOOD AT COMPETITIVE GAMING LOOK AT ME AND MY CLAN type. I mean SVER is sure to have its own share of that type, but by its very nature it must attract a far greater population of guys who simply came to fuck up enemy soldiers and drop mortars on tanks LIKE A BOSS.

Reason I picked SVER was to be the underdog....I love seeing us losing at the beginning with no hope of winning. Then the magic starts happening and we end up winning with 1 minute to spare. The triumph is so sweet.

I played as Raven, I'm not sure if I want to again but I racked up a lot of kills sniping we had some really nice snipers, can anyone tell me how good the snipes were for SVER and valor?

I've used the vanilla ones with no attaches through picking them up and I thought the SVER one was alright, I prefer accuracy to power or speed if that helps.

On the other hand I really hated a lot of my team mates in Raven, until I got to play domination a lot of the people were just running off into random areas and dieing or ignoring the objective when the other team were taking it.

Haha, about 400,000 didnt even gain a single point.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I bet they just shut it off after either not being able to get in a match, or just after playing 2 minutes and realizing how bad it was. I know a lot of people enjoyed the game, but I personally just wasn't feeling it. I played it for a few hours and it was just too boring.

It's hard to get into when you spawn, run about 200 yards and get shot up in a quarter of a second.

Once you start to level up and get better equipment though, and gain squad command, it gets completely ass-backwards awesome.

no..he is 100% correct.

I got in the beta and played for about 30 minutes and thought it was pretty bad. Deleted it. Not gonna buy it. The way the gameplay feels just isn't good. They can tout their large number of players all they want...doesn't matter when I only see maybe 5-10 guys on my screen at once anyway. I'd had way more fun with the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta.

I agree with you all here. I'm a diehard sony fan and(I own both though, and but Multis on 360 so I don't its true anymore but) the Beta sucked. I played for 3 hours, and even did decent, but the game just doesnt pull me in like the way MW2, and BC did/do.
On a sidenote, I wish there was a MMO MGO, GOD that game is great. It's still my fav online game :)

MGO is garbage. A stinking den of hide-around-corners and I'MGONNAJUMPINANDOUTOFTHISBOXTOGAININVINCIBILITYFRAMES. There's more exploiting in that game than there is shooting. And the lag is abysmal.

That said the game was great fun in the beginner's servers where people hadn't figured out all that bullshit yet and were just out to play a cool stealth-action squad shooter.

How many gigabytes was it again?
I wouldn't be surprised if this was the real reason.

I really enjoyed it too, definite first day purchase for me... I didn't really like MW2's multiplayer but MAG seems to already have the balance a good fps needs.

I liked MAG, but to be honest it sounded and played rather bland compared to the Bad Company 2 beta.
I like that there's progression, but the weapon choice seemed rather limited. I'll rent the game before I buy it.

Also, I don't know if it's my weapon choice, but in some games I couldn't seem to kill anything with a Machine Gun. Especially Ravens. My scores showed I was killing more than I died, but it didn't FEEL that way. We couldn't set both bombs in that jungle map, either. I played Valor and we lost almost every games I played...

Let's hope the people who buy the game are more serious about it and will listen to orders. Some people are too stupid to defend their own objective, where they get double EXP, and go off where there's shooting.

It was fun, but for me, it was the same than other FPS multiplayer games, and I think it was because of the BETA, but sometimes took me around 15 minutes to start a match

I downloaded the "client" but didn't download the 2.3GB of files. I had enough space on the hard disk but for some reason it said there wasn't enough space and I couldn't download it. Part that and part me going "screw this" when I realized I had to let the PS3 sit at a menu inside a game while downloading, thus locking it up from doing anything else.

I downloaded the client and was essentially waiting for a friend of mine who works at an air force base in Colorado. A combination of bad timing and grad school applications took out what free time I had. Also didn't help that my parents decided to marathon some Chinese, Korean, and Japanese dramas.
