How about you finish the game instead of working on all of these little side projects that nobody is going to use.

I don't know why anyone would seriously think this delays the game's development.

And I also don't think Polyphony is having any trouble whatsoever with development. Something is up, though. They are waiting for 3D to be available in the PS3, and for this game to launch at that time, with lots of fanfare. I think that's part of why they sandbaged the Nissan demo (And yeah, they did... the textures are inferior to GT5P among various other missing factors).

They aren't waiting because of development issues on their end.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have a Preorder for this game (a gift), and I want it released now. But they poured tremendous resources into this and are going to try to make a bigger launch out of it. Too many heavy hitter games are launching in the near term. Sucks to be us, though, brother.

It would be great if they used this technology in nascar, or any other pro event races so that you could race against ghosts of the actual drivers the next day. But knowing sony they would do this once... 5 months after a race.... and then never do it again.

just get on with the game already

"I don't know why anyone would seriously think this delays the game's development"

Who knows, maybe it's not delaying the product but it is taking resources away from the game team. Someone has to incorporate the data from the GPS unit into the game. And there is no way that the game is done and just sitting on the shelf somewhere. Game companies work on the game up until release.

This would be cool if I lived anywhere near a race track that would get into the game.

all they do is make trailers....finish the damn game already. I don't want to see or hear anything about GT5 anymore unless it is seeing it on a store shelf!

Next time on Expensive and Awesome Stuff That You'll Never Be Able to Do: Play a "completed" game on my PS3 because we won't sell it to you. To think I was hoping to get this game for Christmas. The sad part is, I am still going to get it as soon as it comes out, even with all of my pent up frustration.

Are all Americans are dumb as the people that write this tripe? Of course the game is coming out. It's out in the Summer, the Japanese launch has been delayed to match everywhere else.

What is it that's so hard for MikeSchramm to understand about it? Do they not have schools in your country or something?

Whatever happened to "good things come to those that wait"? Xbox owners of all people should now know how important that mantra is, as everything is rushed out and sh1t on Xbox.

It's hard to delay a game to match a release date that was never announced.

The FT-86 isn't actually all that expensive, Toyota is going to keep it below $30K, and as low in the $20K's as they can afford.

yeah really, a relatively cheap car once it comes out, and a track day could very well cost less than your PS3... expensive?

I did 3 laps around the Nurburgring in November in a rented race car (race suspension, brakes, tires, roll cage...not many power mods though) and it cost me about $350USD plus maybe $75 in gas...so yeah, less than my 80GB MGS4 PS3 bundle!
