If you're as intrigued as we are by Splash Damage and Bethesda's co-operative FPSRPG Brink, you'll probably want to check out the video above, which shows the many options you'll be afforded when customizing your personal freedom fighter. For instance, what kind of full-torso tattoos would like? And how many mohawks do you want perched atop your skull? Three, you say? Wonderful, wonderful.
Though all of the characters designed in the video turn out horrifically homely, there certainly seems to be a lot of depth in the customization tools. We just hope there's an option to shorten our characters' arms, as all of the soldiers seen in the trailer above probably do a lot of tripping over their own forearms.

Good lord, pretty big difference between a medium character and a heavy character.
Still looks interesting. The art style reminds me of Crackdown.

I've never even heard of Brink until now... maybe the title but knew nothing of game. Time to go check out some more videos.

Borderlands, Mirror's Edge, and for some reason, I get a sense of Team Fortress 2 in there. Maybe because off the unique art style it has, even if both of the styles are different.

While it's about co-op, it's not a dungeon crawl. It's closer to Enemy Territory a previous game of theirs. But if that's too old for you the Assault mode on Unreal Tournament.

Yeah, I think I'd just run around Helghast style like they had towards the end
Cause the dude just looks kinda freaky (intentional or not) xD
Game looks good graphically from the video though, I'm interested.

You do realize your "Haha, they look gay" joke involves you admitting you hang out at gay bars. Confused about your sexuality much?

What is this game? I'll rent it, cuz I'm an absolute sucker for character creation/customization...but I don't know if I've ever heard about this before.

The amount of customization is fine, but the basic design aesthetic doesn't appeal to me. as noted, the proportions of the characters are weird, and a lot of the outfits look like they were lifted from Rock Band's metal wardrobe. Which is fine if you're playing a Spinal Tap tune, but not my thing in this context

I'm so excited by this game. The first trailer half-revealed a twist in which the characters are surprised by something they see behind enemy lines, so I'm hoping for a bitchin' story as well.
The ME mechanics have a lot of potential. Just like in ME, anyone in complete control will be effing amazing to watch. And get killed by.

We've been making video games for decades now and we're still playing scarred up tanned steroid machines covered in tattoos with bald heads.

Dude I don't know what video games you were playing decades ago, but none of the ones I was playing back then resembled this in any way. Harry from Pitfall granted was only 20 pixels or so, but I'm certain even at a higher resolution he'd look nothing like the dude in these videos. Likewise i never imagined the dozen or so pixels that together formed the nameless explorer from load runner had a neck that thick.
Mario and Luigi I will grant you were juicing back then. But it was the 80's man, no one knew the dangers of steroids just yet.

That looks truly amazing. I can't wait to be able to customize my character in such a thural manner. And thanks joystiq for posting this update and not your opinion! I think the stylistic choices of the characters are very interesting. It's nice to see something that's not so realistic. We already have a plethora of games that strive for realism, so i welcome the change (and yes, these are just my opinions...)
