....but we know it exists, theres a big icon that says wii shop, when you click on it, it goes to an online world filled with chocolaty joy (okay, maybe a little exaggerated, but you get the picture)

Really? Band Hero DLC? Jeez. You should Advertise the Rock Band DLC.. over 1000.

Do we have the facebook commercials? I wanna see how they turn out.

And also. how is this going to be commercialized. fliers? who actually looks at those anymore. ( no offense to those who do) but still most of the people who has a wii are people that are younger age. and really. we dont really pay attention to fliers that much anymore.

I think most online people get their information from news sites like Joystiq. Those that don't are most likely the type who will se TV or print ads.

But really, we all know Joystiq is the only real place to get news from, all the other means of getting news pale in comparison.

Wait, didn't they also run a big promotion where if you help your friends get connected to the internet you get bonus points for the shop? Now they're also advertising specific games and DLC?

I'm kinda surprised that they haven't been doing this from the start. They should be encouraging people to download games more often. I'm also a bit of a stats whore, so I'd also love it if they would regularly release the top 10 monthly/yearly lists for Joystiq. It would be interesting to see what most Wii owners buy.

My guess? They buy tons and tons of Rockband DLC. Nothing else, just RB/GH DLC on the top 10.

Could someone give me a list of Wii Ware game that are worth getting? I've taken a gander but I'm not familiar with many of the titles other than monkey island.

Lost Winds 1 & 2, World of Goo, FF IV: The After Years, My Life As A King. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I've also heard good things about Contra Rebirth and the new Castlevania one, I think it's also a "Rebirth" title.

Draken: The Bit.Trip games are lovely, if you like chiptunes music (there's even a demo of Bit.Trip.Beat, so you can try it). Besides that---Swords & Soldiers; Me, You & The Cubes; Maroboshi's Arcade are all worth trying. World of Goo is fantastic, but you might prefer to get it for your Mac/PC.

How can you mention My Life as a King but not My Life as a Dark Lord? Both are excellent games.
The Art Style games are great if you're into puzzle games.
Other than the above stated, the obvious choices are: Dr. Mario Online RX, Tetris Party, Megaman 9, Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth, Toki Tori, NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, Excitebike: World Rallyand Cave Story.
Pokemon Rumble is simple but fun (worth the price, try out the demo), Tales of Monkey Island series is great if you don't already have them on another platform, SBCG4AP is great if you're a fan into homestarrunner humor (though the 1st episode is a bit lacking), I've heard great things about The Magic Obelisk, TV Show King 2 if you're into those kind of games, Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH is actually pretty good, Muscle March if you want something funny to own, Chronos Twins DX is a good standard, Phoenix Wright if you don't already own the Phoenix Wright games, Shadow Play is pretty good and quite interesting, and everything else people mentioned above me.

Blah blah blah.

And Bonsai Barber is pretty good. If you're into that. It's a darn good... talking vegetable... barber... simulation... yeah.

PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit was pretty okay for a board-game-thing. And Groovin' Blocks is a darn good puzzle-arcade game.

...(I wish this thing had an edit button)

A large list of N64 games would be unprecedented in getting people to go online. Least for me.

I literally installed the Homebrew Channel for the sole reason of playing N64 games becasue I was so fed up waiting on the Virtual Console.

Too bad the emulator is still in beta stage with crappy framrates on HC :( Oh well, WiiRadio is pretty cool I guess.
