Won't he be busy with The Hobbit?

He's only producing and co-writing The Hobbit... Guillermo Del Toro is directing.

Thank god Del Toro is doing The Hobbit. Peter Jackson really knows how to ruin a series better than anyone else. Or rather milk it until the cow is chafed and bleeding. Sitting through King Kong (Peter's version) might have been the worst experience I've ever had at a movie theater.

I second that about King Kong....I fell asleep and by the time I woke up, my arm was completely dead from being wrapped around my girlfriend for so long.

Worst. Feeling. Ever.

....or am I confusing things with the girl....

Canned years ago. Around the same time Microsoft shuttered most of their internal studios.

Who cares
LOTR and King Kong bored me to death, I heard the Lovely Bones is a flop

so no thanks Mr. Jackson. Please go die along George Lucas

Wow, such anger!

While I agree with your take on King Kong (ran too long for my tastes), I honestly think that the LOTR series is going to stand the test of time.

Besides, I can't hate on a man that gave me Braindead (Dead Alive for those of us in North America)

If it wasn't for him, Hollywood wouldn't have noticed Neill Blomkamp and we wouldn't have the awesomeness that is District 9.

While I can appreciate his enthusiasm, and he seems surprisingly learned and articulate about the intricacies of gaming, he really should spend more time behind the camera. A 4 year gap between flicks is just too long of someone with his kind of talent.

King Kong had the potential to be perfect, if he'd just been willing to shave 20-30 minutes off of it.

I think King Kong's length is what made it great. Even as a remake, there are few films that keep you that wrapped up in their characters... I wish more adaptations were handled with that amount of care.

I'm all for it... since he seems like he has a authentic interest in the medium. Or, just seems like the type of person that would.

Not so much a suit trying to do a quick cash in but someone who will bring some actual creative ideas to gaming. I'd be interested in seeing what he comes up with.

*coughhalochroniclescough*

Seriously. How in the world did that manage to get fucked up? I mean the movie I can understand, since a lot of movie studies are a bunch of money grubby idiots who have no faith in what a Halo Movie could do as far as numbers are concerned, but that game would have been awesome.

I was hoping for the longest time he was putting his skills in cinema together with the creative writing talent of Eric Nylund and making a game adaption of Fall of Reach, the first Halo novel. It's make sense that Jackson of all people would work on that. It'd be an awesome mix between an interactive and cinematic experience.

Then I got psyched when Halo: Reach got announced only to find out Bungie isn't using ANY of the story from Fall of Reach other then the fact that Reach is gonna, well... fall. Biggest. Mistake. Ever.

The Lovely Bones was terrible. Seriously one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The special effects were even awful, and that's just inexcusable for someone who made Middle Earth come to life in LotR. Such a let-down...

We want THE LOVELY BONES: The Game! In it you can watch but not interact with any of the action on earth, and you have a parental grief meter that when full unlocks your ability to have ghost sex. It'll be awesome.

Although i would have loved it if the Halo movie was made, I'm way too up his arse to say anything negative about this man. He's been apart of such amazing movies, the first movie of his i saw was Heavenly Creatures which was disturbing but good and i've been a fan ever since.
