You probably got that idea already, considering nothing but the sound of crickets and tumbleweeds have emerged from Criterion HQ since the release of the last bit of Burnout Paradise DLC, Big Surf Island. A tweet from the company account confirms our fears, stating there will be "no more" DLC and that the company "did WAY more than everyone else." That's all well and good, but it doesn't slake our need for more amazing DLC!
So there you have it. The world is a colder and darker place today. If you need us, we'll be Freeburning our troubles away online, pining for what could have been.

I only wish one of the DLC options was crash mode. It was by far my favorite feature of the Burnout series and I was hugely disappointed that it wasn't in Paradise. Showtime was ok, but car bowling just didn't cut it for me.

Great game and they had tons of DLC compared to other games released at the same time. I just hope they are stopping to make another Burnout game :D

This is really depressing news as Criterion is now developing a new NFS game. I was hoping for some new DLC here and there to hold us over until the next Burnout iteration. If you haven't picked this up, do it right now. This instant. This is one of the best games I've played in YEARS.

Sold a bit ago when nothing new came, it's a shame, such a good game.

I'd prefer they get to making the next Burnout game. Frankly.

Amazing game. The amount of continued DLC support it received should be an example for all developers to follow.
It took me a bit to warm up to at first (I always like Burnout 3 the best), but once I got over the missing crash mode and figure out how to navigate the map easily during races, it became my favorite racing game ever.

What an amazing run of DLC, developers should use this as a case study for years to come. DLC reinvented the game and kept it fresh longer than a year after it hit shelves, and much of it was free. It wasn't just tacked on extra costumes or challenge levels to bilk money from fans.
Thank you, Criterion, you have a fan for life in this gamer! Looking forward to your next game, but in the meantime, be seeing you in Paradise!

It's about frikkin time.
I hope the next Burnout has crash junctions: that was the biggest disappointment about BP. Showtime was kind of fun in a pale mockery sort of way but it was far too simple and silly to make up for it.
On one hand, I'm happy as hell they're finally moving on and hopefully making a new & better Burnout game. On the other hand I'm still a little pissed they never added Crash Junctions with any of the dlc packs.

This was the first game I purchased for my PS3. Love it. Can't wait for the next one from Criterion.
