The reviews on Divinity II: Ego Draconis weren't exactly sparkling, but perhaps you're in the mood for an RPG and missed this one in the rush of holiday titles the past few months. If so, let us pique your interest with this short trailer showing off the Necromancer, an unlocked ally in the game that allows you to use the limbs of fallen foes to customize a party member named "the Creature." After all, these are tough times we live in, and it's best to reuse everything you can. Including that horribly disfigured arm ripped off of a vanquished demon.
And speaking of recycling, we'll also reuse this post to tell you about the various contests that cdv Software has going on its website where you can win an Xbox 360 styled with Divinity II art, a "Dragon Knight Kit," or some sweet mouse pads. Using the same post for two purposes might not be as magical a trick as stitching creature parts back together, but it is pretty handy.

I just bought this game and played it for 13 hours today. It's fun. What stands out how there is very minimal downtime; you just keep going and going and going and you level and you get more story and you get more loot. There's never a dull moment. I'm quite surprised by Divinity II.
Your necromancer is pretty much your best friend in this game, seeing as how you will definitely need a re-animated companion to make it through some of the harder packs of enemies.

YES! Something unique about a video game nowadays. I like, do want.

That's a really really cool feature. I can see myself and others getting quite attached to their beasts. I like i like.

I tried getting into this game twice, and failed miserably both times. It *sounds* like it has some neat features once you get to the tower and beyond, but the beginning of the game mostly focuses on bland graphics, choppy animation, and terrible voice acting. Frustrating, as I was hankering for a decent-sized RPG after Risen left me feeling let down.

I actually enjoyed a lot of the voice acting. It's comical, and it knows it. The game has a sense about itself and tries to have fun. It isn't a great game by any means. The loads are way too frequent and long for one, but it is a lot of fun. It fills my fantasy action RPG craving until the Dragon Age expansion. It's worth a rental at least, and if you see it around the $40 dollar range, it is worth it.

This game has a lot of issues that should be patched until they're all gone, but aside from that, Divinity II is one of the most satisfying CRPGs in years. It's challenging, rewarding, fun, and different, in a sense. The issues aren't nearly as bad as say the absolutely abysmal Two Worlds, however. This game also packs a great story with some generally good and well voiced NPC's. The downside being that most think the ending is balls. But still, the journey is the best part, if you can overlook some frustrating issues, that is.

I'm not much of a gfx whore but the framerate on the 360 demo is so awful... Seems like an OK game though. Apparently the PC version is a lot better. I'll wait for a title update and a price drop.
