Do you love Halo enough to purchase new multiplayer maps, but not enough to buy new Halo games? If that's the case, you'll be pleased to learn that the Mythic 2 Map Pack, which was previously available with 2009's Halo 3: ODST, will be sold separately as Halo 3 (sans overly descriptive subtitle treatment) content on the Xbox Live Marketplace starting February 2.
For 800 MS Points ($10) you'll gain access to three distinct kill zones, namely Heretic, Citadel and Longshore. And if winning on any of them seems like a long shot, why not practice online today and Thursday in benefit of Haiti relief efforts?

It makes the most sense, really. They're good maps.

That's what Treyarch charges. They just throw in a Nazi Zombies map as well.
And these maps are generally made just for multiplayer, not just closed in and modified campaign sections.

Bradwart, do you have big celebratory plans for your upcoming 5000th completely pointless, uninteresting comment? Or is it going to be beating off to that same worn-out picture of Sonic you drew tits on?

All map packs are 10 dollars. CoD4, CoD5, Halo, Gears...

Microsoft. Bungie stated that they were told that they could either make Legendary free, or release Cold Storage for free. Not both.

That's one of my biggest complaints about DLC this gen. I'll put down $10 for some maps that are new, but when the DLC is more than say, 2 years old, it should be marked down significantly. Just look at Gears of War 1 maps, they still want you to pay $10! Ridiculous.

Well... at least they waited a while before they released this... feel like I have access to something early.
I was a little disappointed in ODST's campaign and how I finished it without dying in 4 hours on Legendary :-|
But this is good because my friends that declined to buy ODST will be able to get these maps finally and we can utilize the playlists that have been "locked out" to mythic-only players... like MLG
>:) ODSTers still get reach beta though.

This article still gives me no reason to take COD-MW2 out of my xbox and put H3 back in.
even if they gave the maps away for free i probably still wouldnt.
the only other game capable of making me take out COD-MW2 is Assassins creed 2.

"If you're referring to the distribution model of Halo 3 maps, please remember that Bungie has no control over the distribution or pricing of maps"
That's Bungie's official word on the subject.

They don't have control. That's my point. Microsoft has all control of Halo.

"However, Bungie has control whether to put the maps on Marketplace or keep them exclusive to ODST."
They really don't. Microsoft owns the Halo IP, and they call all the shots with it. Could Bungie refuse to package them as DLC? Sure, but it's probably a few seconds work that Microsoft could easily do themselves, and there's really no reason not to.

Well, there goes another checkmark. ODST is no longer DLC you can't actually D.

Is it just me, or does that map look eerily like that small map from Killzone 2?

if you have played that map, you know its significantly larger than it looks. and has alot more depth than most other multiplayer maps.
