TIME and EFFORT is a necessity. Don't fall down the same ugly path other devs have with the Wii. WE ARE WARNING YOU, AND WE'RE STATING THE OBVIOUS!

Who the hell is this guy, and how come all the video game blogs tout this game as if everyone on earth has heard of this guy? Have I been living in a bubble all these years?

I hate it when companies impose obscure, foreign characters as if they are part of the mainstream and then expect the consumer to eat it up.

Have you never watched "G-Force" or "Battle of the Planets" or "Eagle Riders" as a kid?

Whichever one you saw... they were all dubs of Gatchaman.

This guy here is known by several names: Ken Washio the Eagle (Gatchaman), Mark (BotP), Ace Goodheart (G-Force), and Hunter Harris (Eagle Riders). He's the leader of the science ninja team, Gatchaman.

I vaguely remember G-Force. Is the fanbase big enough to support a mainstream title by Capcom? That is all I am asking.

There's enough of one, and obviously one in Japan.

Just because a region knows less about something doesn't mean you can't make an attempt to enlighten it, otherwise they'll forever know less.

The BotP/G-Force/ER fanbase in the US (and the US fanbase of *any* of the other Tatsunoko properties in the game) is not sufficiently large to support a major video game title, which is why it was very uncertain whether this game would be brought to America. The reason that it *is* coming is because the game itself is supposed to be quite good and garnered a vocal campaign pressuring Capcom to bring it over. Primary sales for this game will come from Capcom fighting game fans, then Gatchaman fans, then maybe fans of some of the other Tatsunoko series.

While Gatchaman has some awareness in the US, I'm not aware of it matching the awareness of properties like Voltron or Robotech, maybe on par with Yamato/Starblazers. But, Gatchaman is well remembered in Japan as the progenitor of the 5-man battle team composed of the leader, the rebel, the girl, the fat guy, and the kid. This layout was reused in numerous subsequent super robot series (like Golion/Lion Force Voltron) and no doubt influenced super sentai (power rangers).

I hope Capcom can get rights to port Takara's Tatsunoko Fight game from the Playstation 1. It wasn't released in America.

I wonder if that's the company that made Grandizer - man I loved that as a kid.

No, Grendizer/Grandizer was by Toei. It followed Toei's Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger series (all of them classic super robot works by Go Nagai, who is also well known for non-super robot works such as Cutey Honey and *ahem* Kekko Kamen).

Mr. Niitsuma,

Please tag along with Tatsunoko and its parent company, Takara Tomy, and appear alongside with them in Namco Bandai's Super Robot Wars. It's just that the problem with Namco Bandai is that IT'S OVER 9000 times busy promoting Dragon Ball, to the point that it even neglects promoting Super Robot Wars, let alone its flagship, Tales.

Also, please collaborate with Takara Tomy, Tatsunoko's parent company, when it comes to games beyond SRW and the VS series.
