Are they doing something similar for Play TV? I hope so.

And I like the idea. You should get a trophy for religeously watching every single episode of Top Gear of each season, I'd get that trophy hands down ^^

They give you a great episode every now and again to make you think that it's finally coming back to what it once was, and then follow that episode up with like 5 complete stinkers.

Oh well, it's still entertaining enough to watch. I'm not going to watch for 3 years and then give up on something that still entertains me before it ends.

Remember that time we all used our hand to cover the words "her show" in the caption above, and that picture made us totally hot? That was awesome.

What, none of you did that?

Oh, me neither.

It's become spontaneously watchable since they decided that Hayden has randomly become a lesbian.

Wait, no, that's wrong. What's the opposite of spontaneously watchable?

Heroes has actually been good for most of 2009. It took them a couple years to get back on track, but they finally did it. I say this as someone who loved the first season but hated the two subsequent "volumes".

I just LOVE the epic battles behind the closed door! Hearing all that action is so awesome! I don't get to see the action but the door shakes and I see a few lights under it! Everytime they do that I'm like "Man they must be do super crazy stuff my tv can't handle!".Then, when they finally open the door, the battle is over and we only get to see the aftermath. Isn't that just great? :D

But really, NBC is in the toilet. :P

2009 is indeed a great year for Heroes from what I can gather via commercials. Truly the writing has come back to form; what with characters spontaneously becoming lesbians, and _____ x _____ fan service! Sylar and Claire hook up? Sure why the hell not!

Please don't make it on the same system as the game trophies... I've spent a lot of time and energy into my trophies, and to have someone just have the PS3 on idle, while every episode of Friends plays, and they surpass me because of that...

It just seems unfair.

Trophies are already unfair. You can spend days playing PixelJunk Eden to get one Bronze while someone else plays Frogger Returns for less than 2 hours (I don't know how long the game is, but I hear it's pretty easy to beat) and ends up with 3 Golds and a Silver. I think Trophies are useful to see what people have played and earned, but they're not really good as metrics for comparison. That WipEout HD platinum is not worth the same as that Hannah Montana platinum.

True, Killdash, which is why I still like to get ones that require skill (for instance, I have Rock Band 2, Mirror's Edge, Resident Evil 5, and HAWX's platinum) but still, the ability to leave your system on and idle, and you're raking up trophies that are comparable to the ones I spent six hours trying to get that damned bladder of steel trophy...

I know I'm not losing anything tangible, however, it does belittle my achievements.

"I've spent a lot of time and energy into my trophies, and to have someone just have the PS3 on idle [...] just seems unfair."

Surely, you've played flOw and Flower, right?

Memories [Bronze]: Reminisce for three minutes before returning to the room.
Welcome Back [Bronze]: Play the game after a week long break.
Healthy Play [Bronze]: Take a ten minute break between any dreams.
Zen [Gold]: Leave game on idle in the end of credits for 30 minutes.

In all seriousness, though, lighten up. I love collecting trophies, but I don't take offense of any sort when I see easy trophies. And I'm not bad enough to buy a bunch of kids' games just for easy platinums.

Hm, I have a feeling that I'm coming off as a trophy whore.

To an extent, I am, sure. But, I don't buy easy games because they're easy trophies, I buy good games that just so happen to have trophies in them.

Take some consolation that you have (at least) 4 platinums and I have 0. :) Almost all of my Trophies come from downloadable games. The disc-based games keep getting put on the back burner because I progress so slowly through them. Even if I took advantage of TV show Trophies, it would still take me forever to get anywhere.

You know, maybe they'd make the TV show Trophies a sub-Bronze level? Like, 1/20th of a Bronze for watching an episode. But an outright Gold for making it through Tom and Eric without switching it off.

If it's anything like the Achievement hunting community for 360, the overall populace is well aware of games that are considered garbage points and pretty much pay no mind to those who pad their score with them.

Just off the top of my head, Avatar (The Burning Earth), King Kong, and I believe TMNT and Terminator Salvation are all that way. Games in which you can get full credit just by beating them (or in the case of Avatar performing a long enough combo in 5 minutes)

@wcarnation

X-Men Origins is not in the same light as Hannah Montana...
Wolverine actually required skill and persistence to get the platinum whereas Hannah Montana only requires you to be missing something inside so desperately that it makes you want trophies to make up for it.

Not all movie games are the same, the majority are but Wolverine was a rare one, kinda a GOW game but with hardly any puzzles lol.

I don't know if we're talking about the same game. There's "Wolverine" and then "X-Men Origins".

The one I had in mind gave you a GOLD TROPHY for just completing chapters in the game, you got like 9 of them, then you had to beat it on hard, and after that you got a Platinum. It had like 10 or 11 trophies.

It hurts, doesn't it?

Season 4 was hyped as the second coming (second GOOD coming, after 2 bad second comings...) and the first couple episodes adhered to that hype. Now, it's back to the same old thing: a good episode comes out and I'm pumped. The next couple are very mediocre, and I hope for the writers to fix it. A good episode comes back on and I'm hooked again! Once more, the mediocre episodes come back, and so it goes...

I just realized, Heroes is like the crack dealer of TV shows...
