Heavy Rain, God of War III PS3 bundles listed for Europe

If you're in Europe, you'll have the option to buy an even bigger, more expensive, but less crazy God of War III box than the "Ultimate Trilogy Edition." An Amazon.fr listing for a God of War III PS3 bundle has been spotted, complete with very believable image. According to Amazon, it'll be available March 17 for €349.95 (roughly $490) and will include the game and a 250GB PS3.

A similar bundle will also be released for Heavy Rain on February 24 for the same price, according to Amazon France -- and wouldn't you know, the bundle box image is classier than the North American game box. There's also a supposed MAG bundle due out January 29, but Amazon just shows the bundle as a regular 250GB PS3 and a copy of MAG.

I was kinda hoping Sony would have done something to the unit like embed an image on the system.

Yeah, it would be a lot better if the console had some sort of logo/design to go with the bundle/game you chose. I suppose with the way they keep making these bundles, there would have to be a lot of different 'special' PS3's. But there is nothing special about them. It's just a game and a regular PS3.

Preferably not in white and pink. ;)

Yea, but they've got the right idea. I mean these two games seem to be the type of games that would make someone want to buy a PS3.

If they wanted to be "more creative" about it though, they could easily just splatter some red paint on the PS3 and call it blood.

Yes, what everyone needs is a tacky image of Kratos screaming in rage at a product logo while you're trying to play Little Big Planet or watch a movie.

I dunno, I kinda like the "get the regular system AND a game, cool!" approach.

Not bad, if a little pricey. But why aren't they doing anything to the systems? Why does Japan get all the custom PS3's?

Japan kinda goes for custom consoles more than us. Personally I'd hate to have a console with a custom design on it, I remember my brother got a PSP with a Kingdom hearts design logo on it and it was horrible! Plus have you forgotten about the Halo 360? *vomits*

There can be good consoles. The Sega Sports Dreamcast was nice, and so was the FFVII PS3. And the Panzer Dragoon Orta custom Xbox is possibly one of the best custom consoles ever.

I actually thought that a custom design made by a modder of God of war PSP was the best custom design I have ever seen (game related, not made for the sake of looking flashy otherwise the 360 and ps3 laptops would be up there)

If you had just spent a bunch of money making tons of Slim PS3's you wouldn't really want to pump out a bunch of new designs for it every time they do a bundle would you? lol

All they'd have to do is either color the plastic or just have a design embossed in the plastic. Considering the premium you can charge for such an addition, I think they'd actually make MORE money.

thats why its called a "Limited Edition" make 10-20k of them and be done with it....its not going to hurt much and they will sell faster than that regular bundle will...

Yeah guys, but why would they do that when people will happily buy their backlot of normal Slim's in the bundle?
Making limited editions of hardware isn't gonna move the regular hardware that they have already manufactured.

I do agree though, a blood-red PS3 or a white PS3 with the red horse shoe kinda shape would look awesome.

I'm not able to use the internet effectively at the moment. Could somebody tell me the approximate release dates for Heavy Rain and God of War III? I will be forever endowed to you.

There's no official release date for GOW3 yet I don't think but Heavy Rain's release date is February 26th for UK, 25th for EU and 24th for US.

I cant wait for the GOW trilogy box! The only thing is I cant decide if I should play GOW3 first or go through them in order since I missed the series during my PS2 days.

This is a story driven game, I would start from the first game if I were you.

I dont get all this bundle crap. As Shimrra said above, if the actual PS3's case was embedded with a nice design from the game, then yes, these bundles would be well sought after imo.

I would love a unique (fairly unique) PS3 case!

God of War 3 is a system seller, as is many games that get bundled like this.

Buying this bundle would be cheaper than buying the game and system seperately. Or, in some cases (such as our Modern Warfare 2 Xbox bundle) it gives you especially unique things, like, A HARD DRIVE THAT HAS ENOUGH SPACE FOR US TO ACTUALLY USE IT.

Too bad Sony isn't doing a Red PS3 with kratos embedded on it like they did with the PSP.

Just for that game alone I went and bought the red PSP. I would even buy a red GoW PS3 eventhough I have two already.

Considering the amount of times you negatively mention the NA cover for Heavy Rain, I'm starting to think you guys are gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was just about to bitch, but then I realized the bundle doesn't really change anything: I still can buy a PS3, and I can still buy a copy of Heavy Rain. I guess my issue is with the marketing aspect: Sony clearly doesn't think American audiences aren't going to 'get' Heavy Rain, and (I guess) are already sold on GOW3. As a fan of both, I'd like to see them displayed on the store shelves for those still not in the know.
