How is Tiger Woods no longer a role model?

Do you people forget how fickle the general public is?

If anything Tiger is a more complete role model now. He proves that anyone, even the most successful and famous, makes mistakes.

C'mon, Kobe Bryant bounced back ( yes, yes, I understand Kobe is held to far lower moral standards/expectations than Tiger) but If anyone can salvage thier image after this situation it's Tiger, imo.

He's a great golfer, but not one I can support anymore (not that it matters, anyway.)

Hmm, so he dicked his wick in another candle, and you no longer support him?
Pathetic.

You supported him for his golfing achievments, not how good a husband he was?

What were you playing?
Husband Of The Year '10?

No.

GOLF.
GAME.

GOLF.

MrXile,

I tend to agree with Jacksons. He is a great golfer that has changed the game.

BUT, Tiger is a d-bag, and a big one. People are so quick to dismiss his behavior because he's famous, good golfer, and that 'he made a mistake'. If you want to look at it that way, then fine. Me, well, I feel sorry for his kids, do you think it'd be good to tell his kids "Your daddy screwed around with a lot of women, hurt your mom, but he's a good golfer, so it's ok"....

I don't care if people still support him, that's fine and I won't rain on your parade, but I'll pass on watching him or playing his video games.

@David

I hope you do not play any sport games, because I am sure that a good amount of the players have cheated on their significant other. Why is Tiger held to a higher standard? Movie stars cheat on each other all the time, so do you stop watching their movies? I hope so, if you do then you are a big hypocrite.

While I do not agree with what Tiger has done, do I fault him? No. Actually, the only thing I fault him for is getting married in the first place. I don't understand these celebrities that get married young. It rarely turns out good, especially when all this tail getting thrown at them.

MrXile,

If you want to support him, have at it. Since these games are pretty much saturated with commentary about Tiger, I won't partake. Sorry, I'm not from the forgiveness generation where everything is okay if we hug and talk about it.

This game will only reinforce something his wife Elin has already confirmed: The only way to beat Tiger Woods with a set of golf clubs is to beat him with a set of golf clubs.

I really wonder if people are gonna boycott this game. I won't get it cause I never got into golf games, but I think it'll be a little silly if fans of this franchise refuse to buy a game they love cause of Tiger's incidents. You know how many famous athletes do shady stuff like this every day? He just got caught. What he did wasn't right but as long as he delivers on the golf course I really don't think it's anybody's business but his and those in his circle.

I assume EA is still wary of the PC and Mac market for sports games-but a iPhone release is of course great.

In terms of "bad things athletes can do to make us lose respect for them," his indiscretions aren't all that bad. He wasn't doping, gambling, or cheating, and he really didn't do anything criminal at all

It might not be the best idea to stick with him, but its certainly not impossible.

Alright! It's about time someone remained unintimidated by social backlash, especially when it's all hypocritical. I for one am proud to say that tiger Woods is my freakin hero and given the money and fame he has, i would have done the exact same things. I'm a guy, what else can you expect?

Tiger is not the only guy on the PGA Tour that has or is cheating on his wife....He's just the one who got caught.

All i know is this, When(not if) he comes back, there will be hell to pay on the golf course, He's going to have an enormous chip on his shoulder and like when he first came on the tour he will be destroying EVERYONE.

Then im sure most people who have dissed him will jump back on his dick(women included) the same thing happened to Kobe, but he stayed in the spotlight and talked about it at the time. so ill give him that. Tiger has pulled a houdini so to speak.

Can't wait for the new mini-games included with EA's recently announced, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11: Playing A Round".... Escalade Escape, Sexting Simulator, Stripper Tipper, The 19th Ho, and many, many more. ;-)

Well lets be honest (if thats still allowed in this country, which seems to live more in denial), if they dropped him the "RACISM" cry would be heard from everywhere.
Sad. However, you don't HAVE to buy the game, so let 'em make it and lose money.

EA can stick with Tiger, but this mom WON'T!! I will not allow my kids to buy any game affliated with Tiger. It's just the wrong message to be sending to our kids. I'm saddened that EA couldn't find another "name player" who could represent the sport and be a good example to our kids (who primarily play these games). Tiger had his chance and he blew it!! Shame on EA.

For EA It is simply MONEY over MORALITY
We will see if the Public choses MORALITY over ENTERTAINMENT

Tiger conned us out of our money by his phoney public image now we must make individual decsions if we accept this fraud. Some will Some won't. So it will be interesting to see the comparative sales results year over year

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but EA Sports also announced that they were making some additions to the Tiger Woods game. In the 2011 edition, they will have new and expanded cheats, sponsorships by Perkins Restaurants, and more lethal iron play.

I'm honestly not surprised. Patrick Kane beats up a cabbie over 20 cents and gets to remain on the cover of EA's NHL 10. However, I suppose EA does have limits when it comes to vehicular manslaughter as they removed Dany Heatley (who was in a car crash that killed teammate Dan Snyder) from the cover of NHL 2004 and replaced him with Joe Sakic.

I don't care what Tiger does with his personal "big stick", but I bet EA just slaps PGA Tour 11 on 10 and calls it a day. I didn't buy 10 and won't buy 11 unless they start adding content that we want, like courses. It's a damn rip they exclude previous courses for the next iteration but instantly offer it as pay-for DLC.

I've found Avatar Golf to be simplistic but fun as hell playing with the course designer.
