The biggest issue facing most Borderlands players has to be the level cap. When you reach level 50, what do you do next? Sure, you could start up a new character and do it all again, but what if you have each class maxed out? Well, then we think the technical term is: you're boned.
That won't be the case for much longer, as Gearbox's Jason Reiss recently popped on the company's forums to guarantee the most-requested feature for the game was indeed in the works. Not only will there be new DLC, but Reiss also confirms there's another update coming that "solves a bunch of issues." That's like two for the price of one, right? Wait, our math may be a bit off -- moving on!
There's no timetable for either the update or DLC at this point, but Reiss says we can expect a full announcement "soon." And you can expect a post about it on our website when there's more info because that's how this relationship works.

I would LOVE split-screen co-op with system link. I'm friends with a couple who owns the game, and it'd be great to go hang out with them and play without lugging my TV and system over.
On to the post, I'm really excited about this. Dr Ned and Mad Moxxi each brought something new and fresh to Borderlands, and I can hardly wait to see what's coming next.

2+2=5, there is only 4-player co-op available.

I would love to see that also, and also being able to use two psn logins and there bye keeping your own character no matter where you are playing. Just like on Resistance two. Unless I'm stupid and you can already do that.

I would buy this game again if they released a 'remove Skags from game' DLC.

Well there goes 1/4 of the game. I actually like the Skags, its the human charactors (the game kept recycling the same models for half the game) that I could have done without... and no putting Badass _______ doesn't count as variety.

Yeah... Though I don't think I would have minded so much if they had added more color to the enemies, or just added a few that were different, even if they were uncommon.

sonicspike41, well I wish they would have put better use to the extra space bluray would provide by simply adding more character models. When a game is that long it really helps.... ooh but the end boss... well like many good games I was disappointed.

Yeah the final boss was lame, I don't even think he hit me once. I just stood in the center and unloaded on him with my assault rifle. Also I was expecting badass loot from the final boss only to be let down with not a single better weapon.
I really hope in Borderlands 2 they will have a way to imbue weapons ala Diablo 2 so that you can get a bad ass weapon then spend items/money on it to make it even better. I hated having to toss a good weapon just because I needed one with elemental damage.

It was a really good game, but the guns were way too similar to one another and the ones for sale were never even close to what you find. Hopefully the DLC will fix some of this.

So is the cap raise part of the update or the DLC?

Reads like it's part of the DLC, answered my own question.

should've brought split-screen coop + splitscreen coop for online or system link from the start, otherwise awesome game with some good gametiime value, might have to pick it up again with the level cap dlc, we experienced lag sometimes when playing split-screen coop, maybe there will be a fix for this?

I'm still making my way through the Mad Moxxi challenges. It sucks that it takes so long to beat them, and you still can't save even if you are playing single player. Anyway I am hoping that they don't take away moded weapons, as I don't think I would be able to beat the challenges by myself without them. Around the community the "shield mod" is now the "shield virus" with low level players who just got the game complaining about how there is no challenge once they have 180,000 point shields. Anyway, if anyone would like to help me with the challenges my gamertag (yes I pay for xbox live) is floydsdarksider, peace!

Sounds good, I'm looking forward to more Borderlands DLC even if Mad Moxxi was kinda lame (Zombie Island was quite fun, though).

Here's hopin' the next DLC has something truly game changing... like new enemies. >_>
But seriously, I'd like to see an expansion with a lot of content. Bethesda's first few, for Fallout 3, were light on content, for sure... but soon after, each one picked up and snowballed into more and more content per pack. Wasn't anything huge, but certainly made up for the 3-4 hour Operation: Anchorage DLC.
As for Gearbox, Zombie Island was their O:A, but Mad Moxxi's, while fun, was nothing more than something that was already in the game with a slightly different set-up... I'm just hoping they don't do anything with that racing track for the next DLC, heh.

That's actually funny, I always thought of Zombie island being like the Pitt and Mad Moxxi being like Operation: Anchorage, with this new one coming out probably being close to Broken Steel ala the new cap and HOPEFULLY an extended story line past the end of the game. Similar to the theme of Fallout's packs, the DLC's for Borderlands thus far are playing on a particular strength of the game, or at least putting more emphasis on it.

I'm guessing one of the fixes is for the repeater textures bleeding out all over the screen. I'm not sure how the last update caused that to happen, but I was pretty pissed the first time I found a gun I wanted to use, but couldn't because it prevented me from seeing anything while equipped.
Either way, great game. Can't wait for more DLC, especially if it takes the same approach Zombie Island did.

I'm hoping for an in-game economy type deal where you can properly trade items and such with a trading screen like Diablo II.
Also, delete everyone's hacked weapons.

Why has "raise the level cap!" become such a knee jerk request in any game with a leveling system? I personally like that you can't skill max a character in Borderlands. It forces people to be creative with their skill setups and try other classes.
A functional and secure trading system would be a better add on in my opinion. Or even some limited crafting options (dissassembling and reassembling weapons & components).
Anyway, I'm interested to see how this effects the game. I don't play with level 50 characters uless I'm playing mine so I guess it wouldn't berak the balance of the game for me.

I don't get all the love for this game. I just finished the first playthrough the other night (played as a Siren with one other person through whole game) and have no desire to start a second playthrough or try a different class. I found the gameplay and enemies to be terribly repetitive, and this is coming from someone who played Diablo 2 for years. I think my main beef was only having one special power. It just felt like I was doing the same thing over and over for the whole game. There was also a serious lack of good loot towards the end, I think I was using the same set of elemental SMGs from about level 25 until I ended at 36.
