I realized the other day browsing PSN they changed the name of that game to Magic Orbz.. wonder why....

I had bought it back when it was Magic Ball.. it's not a bad game.

My theory about the name change is that Creat Studios/Tik Games wanted to no longer be tied to Alawar Games, who are the owners of Magic Ball (note that Magic Ball is originally a series of PC games distributed online by Alawar; the PS3 Magic Ball is an enhanced port of Alawar's Magic Ball 3). Or, their license with Alawar to use the name expired or was made void thanks to all the additional content they created. Something like that, maybe; I'm no copyright lawyer.

Incidentally, my opinion on Magic Ball (PS3): disappointing. The later levels (not including the expansions) get really frustrating, with maps with corners and angles very close to the paddle, such that you can't predict which direction the ball will bounce back. Shatter is a superior brick-breaking game, even without the suck/blow innovation.

i bought critter on Amazon today for the same price sans tax. I may buy more from Amazon to avoid the dreaded tax. Through the PS3 the tax is high and somewhat of a rip off..

That all depends where you are. In VA and FL there is no tax for PSN purchases.

yeah this just started for IL about 2 or 3 months ago. I have no clue why but it seems like it's close to 10%. I haven't bought a psn card lately to see if they are double dipping on those. Wouldn't surprise me though...

Wow...Braid it is. For some reason I had thought this game was more of a puzzle type game, like Tetris or something. Then I looked onlne. I don't know how I missed this one before but I'm definitely buying this when I get home. Reminds me a lot of the old classic 2D side scrollers we all grew up playing.

How does pinball compare to pinball on 360? I have the 360 version, but wouldn't mind buying the PS3 version if they are different.

Also will be getting Critter Crunch.

Thats a damn good deal on the MGS psp games. I have Portable ops, Portable ops+ and probably have $50 in those two games alone.

Everyone should buy Burn Zombie Burn. It's the best PSN game there is in my opinion.

I bought it based on your recommendation when it was $5 and I gotta say I think it's awful. It's just boring, boring, boring. Worst downloadable title I've bought.

I've got 100 hours of playtime in the game and have probably got 75 psn games. It's the best on the platform period. Peggle and shatter are boring. Give it a chance and I promise it's highly fun and addictive. How can you say it's boring when it's basically non stop action and swarms of zombies? It's like zombies ate my neighbors horde mode. Flower is the most boring and shit game on PSN IMO. Talk about boring and pointless. BZB has so many modes, zombies and weapons that the replay value is outta this world. I still suggest it to everyone and it's still the best downloadable game I've ever played. You guys make me sad for humanity.

What makes it boring?

Well, no arguements about flower. Charming game with beautiful visuals but the gameplay aspect is almost non-existant. There's no challenge, I know people hate this term but it's more of an "interactive screensaver" than a game. Also no arguments with Peggle. As for Shatter, it's my personal favorite for PSN games, but I can see someone not liking it. The push-pull mechanic, while vital in some later boss battles, makes most of the regular levels far too easy.

First of all, I decided to pick it up and give it a second chance before writing this. Burn Zombie Burn is slow. You can do pretty damn well just circling around the horde letting them catch each other on fire. Sure there are different weapons but I end up using only one or two, so what's the point? Secondly, why can't you move with one stick and aim with the other? Because it's "arcadey"? I'm not fond of archaic controls. The dualshock is 15 years old and it has 2 damn analog sticks, there's no reason to ignore the second one. Once you get past them though, there's still a lot there. After wave 30 or so it starts to get challenging, but not terribly so. The shotgun is the only weapon that's really satisfying to use besides the flamethrower. I like the art style and the main character makes me think of Bruce Campbell which is a plus, but overall I just don't think it's any fun. It's not enjoyable to play. You're right about the replay value, they packed in enough modes and maps to keep you busy, but it's all for nothing if the game isn't fun to begin with. Hey, you obviously think it's great, so have a blast. But it's not the game for me.
