This sounds very cool, but at this point, it's not like I remember the decisions I made in ME 1. I remember the overall story, but the details are a little vague after all this time. I suppose I could go through one more playthrough before the next game comes out, but you know... too many games, too little time...

Yes, I luckily had time in the lull before the fall game craziness, and I realized that I forgot TONS of stuff that happened and that I had chosen. I'm really hoping there's a "previously, on Mass Effect" thing at the beginning that shows you the basic story arc and your decisions in the first one.

From what I heard, there will be a introduction/setting the stage montage where they let you make the decisions about various events IF you dont upload your old ME save

There will be a summary of major events/decisions from your ME1 save that you can review before you import it. IGN's got a vid feature on importing from ME1.

I had heard when you start the game, you are asked several questions to fill in gaps from the story in ME1. If you're using a pre-existng ME1 save and say answers that contradixt what actually happened in your save, you'll be told "No no, that's wrong!". Through that, I'm sure your memory will be refreshed of key events and decisions in ME1.

Mako controls were very frustrating at first. Once I got used to it however, I found it allowed for excellent independent control over both the vehicle and the canon/view.

That said, I hope all these improvements are received well by existing fans and new-comers.

I just hope the Hovertank Hammerhead will be able to climb as well as the Mako. For all of the Mako's control scheme issues, it climbed near-vertical cliffs like it was no one's business. A treaded tank can climb easily, lots of grippage; a hovertank with no actual hard connections to the ground on the other hand.....

All of the Mako's problems really just came from its lack of gas and brake/reverse buttons. If it controlled like a car it would have been fine. As long as the new vehicle has a gas button and normal steering then it will be good.

Crazy thing is none of them have anything to do with gaming with the exception of his MBA. And from what I heard MBA's aren't not joke pretty much he can run a company from the ground up by himself.

MBAs on their own are no big thing. What makes an MBA valuable is what undergrad degree you have (or in this guys case, what other graduate degree). MBA+liberal arts degree=meh, MBA+law or engineering or medical etc degree=ka-ching!

If they ever do space battles, they should just rip off the battle system from skies of arcadia (old dreamcast rpg)

Skies of Arcadia ship battle would be sweet. I used Quicka, then whatever spell powered up your attacks. Torpedo + Torpedo + Secondary Cannon + Main Cannon

Star Trek Bridge Commander style would also be good too, and a little more realistic (if they go that route)

Beating the game and then seeing Fina in the pirate costume made it worth it

That would be nice. Not just to summarize my personal decisions, but the overall plot of the game.

It doesn't help that I originally played twice (at least) and I can't even remember which way I went on the major decisions the last time. Who died? Did I save the council? Not sure. Oh well...

He looks like as if Custer's last stand was a buffet rather than an ambush.

Regardless of the man's visage, Bioware's quality of product remains a boost for the industry artistically and financially.

I think the most influential decision in ME1 was saving the rachni queen, hopefully we wont have to wait until ME3 to see what happened. Many of the other decisions I cant see having much of an impact outside of a simple "hey I remember you" scene.

I was browsing at Gamestop today and the clerk accidentally left the back door open and waaay in the back I could see a bunch of ME2's just sitting there, waiting for Tuesday. I wanted to cry, I fucking hate street dates.

On topic though, great and informative video. I'm so glad they refined the 2 biggest problems I had with the first game, the combat and the exploration/side missions.

I wonder how much of a challenge it'll actually be to get the best possible ending you can in ME2. I want to keep playing my good guy Shephard, but I'm so afraid that the good guy path leads to self sacrifice. :(

Mass Effect supplanted all games in my gaming history as the best I've ever played. I'm so excited for ME2, I've been jittery for the past few days. Bioware is my favorite developer and I'm really looking forward to more them, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age in the near future.

By the way, I'm sure Mass 2 will come the PS3. That's fine with me. The more people exposed to this great universe, the better.

Anyone who plays the sequel without playing the first is a failure. As is anyone with a 360 (or PC capable of playing it) who hasn't played it fails.
