"in both retail and DLC formats"

Nope. Looks like it's going to arrive in the form of a whole 'nother reason to bust out your wallet.

I remain hopeful the original version will get the arc compatibility through virtue of a retrospective download (mainly as I just got the game from my wife for Christmas)

That said, I won't be holding my breath. We are, after all, talking about the same Capcom that billed us for a versus mode...

I don't get how this works in RE5. Are you constantly changing from the Dual Shock to the Dildo Shock? If not, how do you control your character?

At 2.37 mark you can see the guy holding dualshock with his left hand and "Arc" with his right. He probably only uses the left stick of dualshock for movement.

And yes, it does look a bit cumbersome.

no more cumbersome than a nunchuck attachment.

The Nunchuck and Wii remote were designed to be used with one hand each. The Sixaxis wasn't.

I think most of Joystiq's Photoshoppings take longer to produce than the posts they accompany, and that goes for Dead Space Girl appearances too.

If you've gone to school in design, making images like these that look pretty fake takes about 2 minutes. I'm sure they're taking more time to write the article and finding a resource to get information from.

yea i agree, a couple clicks with the pen tool/magnetic lasso/wand, make a couple layers, position the images, and export. 2-5 minutes tops.

Did everyone know that to use the motion control you would need to hold the wand in your right hand and the SIXAXIS in your left? Doesn't that seem ridiculously awkward? I loved RE4:Wii Edition and was hoping this would replicate that gameplay experience for Number 5.

I can't play RE4 any other way after playing the Wii version, it's just too perfect.

I regularly play the pc versions of both Left4Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2, with the left half of a dualshock 3, in a very similar manner (albeit with a mouse in place of the arc controller)

I find it's perfectly comfortable and does the job fine, no complaints yet. I imagine it'll be much the same with this set up too.

I just posted above. holding a DS3 in one hand is no different than the wii's setup. try it. it's not like the controller is heavy

good idea to delay the controller by Sony, it doesn't seem like they have as big a plan for it as MS has for theirs. with so little support, they would doom it to failure almost instantly. they have to get some more devs on board or this will end up like every other Sony accessory (shakes fist at PSEye).

I really hope Sony decides to go with the 'Arc' name for the controller. It's got a nice solid ring to it. Certainly better than 'Wand', which makes it sound like a cleaning device.
