Valkyria for $20 with MAG or ME2 purchase at Toys R Us, other games on clearance

Be honest -- regardless of which of the Great Console War's factions you side with, you're either going to purchase MAG or Mass Effect 2 at some point next week. While you're doing so, Toys R Us will be running a pretty sweet promotion: purchases one of those games and also grab Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 for just $20. Now, we realize the 360 diehards out there will have little use for this game. However, we suggest sending it to your favorite PS3-loving comment-sparring partner. Think of the hours of entertainment they've brought to your life!

If tactical RPGs aren't your area of expertise, we also suggest checking out the rest of Toys R Us' site for a killer clearance sale on a number of games and accessories. You'll have to dig through a disheartening pile of Imagine titles to find the valuable chunks of ore -- don't let it break your spirits! It's worth it, we promise.

Oh toys r us, trying to pass something on as a deal when it's really not.

I was going to stat the same thing as I was just looking up Valkyria prices but 2 days ago!

Neither MAG or ME2 are on my list.

i'm not getting either of them either, man. i have absolutely zero interest in either title and i have both of the consoles.

Throwing my hat in here as well. It's not that I have no interest in them, it's just that I don't have enough to bother buying either.

I'm kind of with Dr. on this. MAG looks interesting, much more interesting than your basic run-of-the-mill FPS, and I'm sure I'd really get into it if I got it. But damn, there's so many friggin awesome games right now! I just can't keep up.

I can safely say I have no intentions of purchasing either game, and I own all three consoles.

MAG is only really interesting to me in the aspect of going online with so many other people, yet I already have dozens of games I can go online and shoot at other people with, many of which I prefer such as Metal Gear Online or Uncharted 2, then there's always stuff like Killzone 2 and whatnot. It's kinda "been there, done that".

Mass Effect 2 doesn't interest me because I think most BioWare games are pretty darn dull and ME2 looks about as dull as ME1, just amplified that much more.

I've just been playing Little Big Planet like a fiend with the occasional Assassin's Creed 2 replay. I am content.

"Dull" and "Bioware" in the same sentence. Thats a first.

Wal-Mart cleared out Valkyria for 19.99 clear back in October. This isn't a deal at all.

I know, right? Valkyria is a fifteen - maybe ten - dollar game. Highway robbery!

but doood, it's on sale!

Nearly all of their 'sale' titles are still higher than I've seen them at other places.

If they add trophies to VC, I'm all over that deal.

It's not just VC there are more games to that list

Man next week is trying to literally kill my wallet.

All 3 of my consoles want love next week but I'm afraid only one is going to get it.

Are people really excited for MAG? I thought it was going to be kind of a turd.

MMO's are almost always exciting at first. I'm waiting a week or so to see what everyone is saying about it.

i have no doubts that MAG will be a massive failure.

MAG's not an MMO in the normal sense. It's just a massive FPS. Hell, I've played some matches of Counter-Strike 1.6 with 300 people. Needless to say, that was crazy.

If you give MAG a fair shot, the game is incredible. It starts off as nothing special but it builds into a massive well organised fps, its a brilliant game if you like online FPS'..

I just don't like playing FPS' without a mouse and keyboard.

i work at a walmart and we have the majority of those games on our shelves for those prices and they have been for months now...nice try toys r' us

Plus I already have the awesomeness known as Valkyria Chronicles

that's what i'm more excited about, too. well that and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. it's like the last 5 years have turned North American games journalism into an old-boys club of FPS/Western RPG fans, only. it's kind of ridiculous. I was very disappointed in the first Mass Effect, and i have no interest in a sequel, and MAG looks like yet another generic (although pretty) multiplayer deathmatch arena with hundreds of people.

for them to assume that everybody is interested in only those 2 games (and further makes the stupid assumption that we only have one console) is a little insulting.

When you buy MAG or ME2 at TRU, you can get $20 off many other games, and yes there are 360 titles. Some include Forza 3, Halo 3 ODST, COD4 GOTY, Smackdown 2010, Guitar Hero World Tour instrument set, Arkham Asylym, etc.

Yeah I was thinking of buying MAG but White Knight Chronicles is coming out on Feb. 9 so I rather buy that lol that game is going be epic I LOVE YOU LEVEL-5 PLEASE HEART ME TOO!!!

I admit, I LOVE the whole concept of the real time war between the 3 factions. It seems like an incredibility new take on a very tired genre. Most FPSs shoehorn in a 4 hour campaign and the cookie cutter death match. But MAG seems like a completely new direction.

That said... I'm picking up WKC first. I might pick up MAG down the road at some point though.

Pretty lame, but Popcap Volume 1 for 360 @ $10.49 is about the best deal in there.
