NEWS: Uncharted 2 getting "More news reported than Mass Effect 2" award!

From October 26th to current Mass Effect 2 has had a total of 42 pre launch hype pieces including this entry on the main page. Thats not counting general Bioware stuff thats tagged or stuff about bundles etc. In the last 30 days it's had 21 posts ... Obviously the reason that there are so many Uncharted 2 posts in regards to awards is because it's won all of them from media, to arts and science to industry. If Mass Effect 2 is as universally loved as Uncharted 2 it'll get the same treatment this time next year ... if not then it won't.

Oh ... Uncharted 2 also got about 25% less coverage on the main page in each time frame when compared to Mass Effect 2. (15-21 & 31-42)

Good, the better game's getting more coverage. As it should.

As I said, if Mass Effect 2 sweeps the awards circuit next year from media, arts & sciences and industry like Uncharted 2 has done this year then at best it'll be just as good. Whether you like it or not Uncharted 2 has set a new bar thats basically impossible to pass. Time will tell and no amount of revisionist history or whining from you can change the facts ... Uncharted 2 is one of the best games this generation and is the best game last year. Period.

Well as usual you're wrong, it's not even in the top 10 of last year. It was a very average sequel to a very average first game.

The problem with that statement is it's without merit. It's true to you because its your own opinion but it couldn't be further from the populist view. Its like the only reason him and other 360 fanboys are having wet dreams over me2 is because they feel terribly neglected after last year, and they want their share of the uncharted 2 and other quality exclusives pie. I wouldn't be so hard on you sony fanboys if you learned how to handle success like I said above. Just because you got 1 game that's almost universally loved, doesn't mean the ps3 is all of a sudden the best system ever.

You guys went years without having anything really worth playing, I know because I have a launch 60gb and I went through the drought too. The biggest part of success is learning how to handle it.

uncharted 2 had an easier time winning so many awards because there was not much competition elsewhere. what was going to beat it ODST, mario bros wii, demons souls or LFD ?? did you really feel U2 was competing with much last year?

ME2 will have a harder time winning that many awards because there is a better crop of games coming out on both systems this year. ME2 has to compete with GOW, GT, Reach, etc.... you dont see more AAA games this year and awards being more shared between them ??

and i think ME2 is getting more press 1 in part because it is the bigger franchise over uncharted 2 IMO. remember kidz the game is coming out on 2 platforms and not 1 platform like uncharted and is being advertising to a larger and wider audience than uncharted 2. there are over 100 million+ potential PC and 360 customers and there was what 30 million ps3 customers to advertise the games 2.
common sense tells me which game will get more press and publicity.
then you have EA controlling most of the marketing of this game and EA is known for doing better marketing and spending more money on advertising than Sony and naughty dog. there is a reason we are seeing more ME2 TV commercials than we saw U2 commercials.

Ever heard of a games called Assassins Creed 2, Arkham Asylum or Modern Warfare 2? Yea all UC2 competed with was Left 4 Dead, ODST, Demons Souls and Mario ... idiot. It won all the awards and got the highest metacritic rating of the year because it was the best game. Period.
