We've still got quite a wait ahead of us before TrackMania 2 arrives, but we can at very least sate our desire for more from the series in these first screens of TrackMania Wii. The game is said to feature the usual superabundance of tracks, and even an online mode for those of you looking to take the madness worldwide. TMW's first six screens (minus the logo you see above, of course) show off the variety of environments through which we'll be speeding when the game arrives on Wii in the "second quarter of 2010." We're quite fond of this one right here, but we're still holding out for the totally necessary "inside of a volcano" level. We can dream, no?

This game needs to be on Xbox Live Arcade.

Good for Wii owners, but really just grab the PC version. I hope it is a better port than the DS version, which had some physics issues.

@squall: I'm pretty sure they're not talking about the cars. Completely covered up tracks in the air had some seriously annoying holes in them. As in, your car would literally fall off through the floor at times.
It really made getting through some missions seriously impossible at times. Regardless, I had a fun time going through the challenges.

Yeah, because "Trackmania Wii" would make a perfect addition to the Marketplace. Dumbass.

Wtf just for the wii, trackmania has always been about amazing views and awesome physics. I wonder how the wii is going to hold up

I thought Trackmania was more about the crazy tracks and driving, which the wii can definately pull off. It was fine on the DS and I'm sure it'll be even better on the wii.

I've never played Trackmania. Is it available on Steam and should I purchase it? Cause I've heard some good things about it.

@finn
Its a solid game, but IMO its not worth the $40 it costs now (it came out at $30, but they added a ton of content). That said, Trackmania Nations Forever is free (its just one track-style out of the 5 or 6 there are) so if you really like that you can see if you want to throw down $40 for the whole thing.

@Mr Khan
Trackmania Nations isn't the original version of the game, its just one of the track-styles (with the open-wheeled F1 styled cars).

Give nations a try, it's free, and the online community is huge (in game) and hardly any morons trying to ruin your time.
It's suprisingly fun, and I for some reason don't normally like many online games.

TM works so well with the 360 controller, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't be able to put it on XBLA as well as the Wii.

Since the 360 and PC share similar architectures it should be a pretty straightforward portl, too.

Is Trackmania 2 the same as Trackmania Wii but with a different name or different?
If it is different, why should it go the XBLA? Why not just put Trackmania 1\2 then. I don't see why they can't give it a go as a Wii exclusive version.

As long as FC's are implemented for PvP races and map sharing, those will get me convinced to buy TM Wii.

I am really excited about this. I tracked the DS game for a while, but eventually decided against a buy. But now, another game for my Wii! I hope we get those island themed levels...that's the one thing I was disappointed the DS game wouldn't include...the Youtube vids with that environment are gorgeous.
