This is true. I don't remember where I got it but Major Nelson had a link on his site when it launched. Try searching there.

I like how the Bioshock 2 logo is like a visual metaphor for what they're essentially doing to Bioshock.

Actually, they ARE releasing the BioShock 2 OST on CD... it comes in the Limited Edition along with an LP. So technically, it's either big AND small disc, or no disc.

The LE for Bioshock had a "soundtrack sampler", but none of the 3-4 songs were actually from the game. Just really bad remixes of 50s songs by Moby.

That's exactly what it was. A pseudo record looking thing that I listened to a few times and went "Hey, I don't remember any of this" and just ignored it.

I'm glad this is on CD in the LE, it's making it a very worthwhile purchase. I can't imagine NOT doing it, as Bioshock 1 was pretty frickin' amazing.

I just wish there was another cool "figure". I love my Big Daddy... wow, that sounds wrong.

Because I have a Zune pass, so if it was on the Zune Marketplace I wouldn't have to pay anything extra for it.

I wish bethesda would release a Fallout 3 soundtrack. I don't just mean the retro songs but also the score.

The retro songs are great. I never would have listened to songs that old outside of a soundtrack and I'm glad I did. As for the OST stuff, the Fort Frolic song is my favorite and I'm really looking forward to hearing the new songs. Regardless of if this is an amazing new game or just extra Bioshock levels I'm looking forward to this big time.

Joystiq, please re-read the source article again and update your post! The Special Edition of Bioshock 2 WILL include the Bioshock 2 score on CD. The vinyl LP will have the original Bioshock score on it. Can't wait for the game!

This x2.

The LP is NOT Bioshock 2's score, its the first one (and the sole reason I'm buying the Collectors Edition).

I thought I was the only one that did that! I used to listen to N2O all the time for The Crystal Method. I wish that game would get HD'd and put on PSN.

Most PC games aren't that much harder than that even today. All you need is an unpacker for whatever archive format they use and BOOM MP3 soundtrack!

Bioshock is slightly more complicated (you need to convert the files as well) but it takes less than a minute :)

So, will the soundtrack be longer than 17 minutes altogether? I enjoyed the Bioshock score but it was so short. :(

That's pretty stupid. You'll cater to both kinds of hipsters (useless vinyl and iPod kiddies), but you won't release it on a good, viable piece of lossless media? (CD)

Freaking idiots...
