PS3-owning billiards fans have something to look forward to this week. This Thursday's PSN update will feature Hustle Kings, a PSN-exclusive game promising "real pool, real physics" and "the real hustle with real balls." With all this talk about being "real," we won't be surprised if this game eventually gets patched with PlayStation Motion Controller support.
Sporting the standard $9.99 price tag, the surprisingly good-looking game also includes YouTube support to upload your best shots, in-game XMB music control, and online multiplayer. Check out the trailer after the break.

Why doesn't every game have XMB music control?

Becuase Microsoft Patented Software music. That stops Sony from allowing it for all games. Now the game developers have to put that feature in themselves

I'm definitely getting this. I just hope there is some kind of tutorial or training mode, because I certainly can't pull off a lot of the moves seen in that video, though I'd very much like to learn how. This should hold me over until I've saved up enough for a real table.
Also, I heard that this is going to be one of the games that will later be patched to support the new motion control device. I thought they were going to wait on releasing it until the device was released, but with the recent announcement that the controller won't be out until the fall, I'm glad they went ahead with Hustle Kings.

There is a tutorial that shows you how to pull off swerve and jump shots and there's also a trick shot mode.

Incorrect, an inside source more specifically stated that:
A certain game publisher would be angry if Sony released in-game music as a system default because x number of this certain publisher's games would not be compatible with the feature, therefore, making them look bad.
So....whoever this game publisher is is a huge player in the Sony space for Sony to cave into their demands. Feel free to hypothesize on which game developer it is. They are responsible for this whole debacle.

Interesting. Going to have to check out the reviews on this one. There's plenty of pool games, but as a serious pool player I've yet to find one that was anything close to the real mccoy.

Real McCoy would have a Pub mode, where there's a lean on the table =P
