Starting tomorrow, the screen-tearing present in the Xbox 360 version of Darksiders will (hopefully) be a thing of the past, as the game's official blog reports the patch will be available for download starting tomorrow. You'll find the update available starting tomorrow at 2am PT (5am ET).
We'd like to be a bit more excited about it, but knowing that everyone ever in the world will eventually succumb to the apocalypse ... well, we're finding it a bit difficult to get pumped about an update to some video game. If you'll excuse us, we're going to call our families and tell 'em how awesome they are.

I've always thought "screen tearing" was kind of a drastic name for the issue. I remember talking to one guy that always made sure he turned on V-Sync in every game and gave it all priority, because he thought it would literally tear the screen up and completely ruin his monitor.

This was such a great game. I enjoyed it so much more than Bayonetta ... which was weird and left me feeling ... dirty.

Silly man, how is Joystiq supposed to review something that didn't release on the 360?

I played through all of Darksiders on the 360 and I never noticed any screen tearing. Either I'm blind, or this "issue" isn't as horrible as I've heard people claim.

I only noticed it once it popped up on gaming websites and I read it existed. Otherwise, it didn't bother me.

I think that once you play it with the tearing removed, you will definitely notice the difference.
While playing this game, it felt as though there was water on my screen. That's the best way I can descibe it. It really only occurs if you spin War quickly in either direction.
It is still a really fun game to play though.

I don't know some of you guys are claiming to have not seen it or only seen it once. It's all over the place in the game. When I played it seemed like I was seeing it once or twice every minute. I didn't count them or anything, but it was definitely a constant issue.

Wiki has an explanation with a decent picture of what it looks like:

I never noticed it when I did my normal and apocolyptic run throughs. I've finished and maxed it, and taken it back to the video store...so either it's not that big of a deal, my copy got lucky, or I just don't notice that kind of stuff.

You probably just don't notice. It's one of those things though that once you do notice you can't un-notice. In general some minor tearing doesn't bother me, but Darksiders has more than I've seen in a while. It wasn't a make or break issue for me though.

How hard is it on apocolptic? I am just about through the game on normal and while there have been some tough parts, I feel like the game is pretty easy.

I loved Darksiders so much that I finished it in 3 days, which is impressive given how long it normally takes me to finish a game. It'll probably end up being my favorite surprise game of 2010 and I even made the GameStop guys give me the big ass poster they were going to throw away even though I have absolutely nowhere to hang it. That being said, I wasn't even sure what screen-tearing was until I played Darksiders.

They're all too busy playing Mass Effect, I'll wager.

Kinda hard to review an online only game before the servers go up. I know IGN have their review out but they probably had a special game set up by zipper cause they're top priority. Think they gave it a pretty average review.

Not to mention no review would be a good review until they've played with the general population.
My experience with big team battles - One teams starts to get pwned, 90% quit, the 10% left get to hear about how much they suck despite being a good sport and trying to play the game.
Just my experience. Let's see what Mag is like.

That is war's initial design. you cannot use that armor in the game.
You use only two types. The regular armor, and the abyssmal armor

It would have been nice to have this a week ago. I'm on the last area now and while the screen-tearing doesn't significantly impact anything, it is an annoying distraction. :|

To bad I already beat the game twice and get all the achievements... Oh well, I guess that just means I didn't really notice the problem, which for the most part I didn't.

Very nice, although I barely noticed that issue.
I hope they also fix the issue with inverted Y-Axis settings. When riding the griffon it would have inverted aiming but no inverted flying controls which feels odd. Also the game doesn't seem to remember the settings so I have to change them back every time I start playing and every time I returned to title screen.
