Ubisoft plans to launch Red Steel 2 in two flavors: Standalone software for $50 and bundled with the Wii Motion Plus add-on for $60. GameStop preorder customers will also get exclusive access to two in-game swords. We're still smitten with the sequel's new manga-esque, East-meets-West visual style and "desert-bound, high-tech metropolis" setting, but we're also still holding our breath to see if Ubisoft can tweak the "canned" gameplay we experienced during our last hands-on with Red Steel 2.

Awesome!
P.S. Why would someone put 3 belt buckles in front of their mouth?! Makes no sense.

Too close to Pokemon to warrant an immediate purchase for me, but i'll keep an eye out. The original was at least decent in all realms except the actual swordplay, so if this one can really nail that, they should have something good going
Though this looks to be one of those "sequel in name only" situations.

He was talking about the release date, not the type of game. Both this game and Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver version release in March.

I'll definitely be renting this so that I have something new to try that utilizes the motion +, but there's no way I'll be buying it unless it surpasses all somewhat low expectations... and/or has an awesome swordfighting multiplayer.
I was burned too badly by (mostly my own expectations for) the first one to actually want to give them any money for this.

I thought they said Red Steel 2 WON'T have multiplayer.
The first one wasn't THAT bad, people just expected a heckuva' lot out of it. ...I didn't know anything about the game when I bought it, and it was pretty decent. And no one really complained when we played multiplayer.

Is it the first Wii game that might be worth checking out since NSMBW (which is great, despite causing some minor discussions with my wife) to anyone else or just me?
Because to me 4 months separating two "A" releases feels like a helluva time.

So what, UK gets left in the dark on those swords? How the hell do we get them?
