This is exactly what happens when people plunk down real money for gold lancers & horse armor. If you don't stand up and let Microsoft know that this kind of stuff won't fly, it's only going to get worse.

Score yet another victory for Microsoft's financial douchebaggery. Bill Gates wipes his ass with the money he makes from all of our XBLA moonbucks purchases.

Um, exactly what do you mean? I dislike the idea, but MS isn't taking that $3 out of my pocket automatically. I'm not being forced, and hopefully enough people call MS out on it, but if not, big damn deal.

It's a licensing issue. They had a license to distribute a specific version and this is a different one... so they have to resell it under the new license agreement... or so I would guess.

Just endless cycle of issues->excuses->issues->excuses. Doesn't it get old?

I've gotta agree with him on this, you guys bring this on yourselves. MS puts that carrot stick out in front to see how far (gullible) people will go. This is another step in their M.O. which gain a foot hold and then squeeze the customer dry, seriously they always do it what makes you think the 360 will be any different.

I love my 360 but my patience has been sorely tried the past few years. In between 3 RROD, easy disc scratch (I have a child), RUDE customer support, them trying to charge me for a HDD transfer kit after I upgraded to an elite even thought it comes with the HDD separate, paying for gold only to be bombarded with adds my premium service was initially supposed spare me from(though some people have said you can block adds...please help), DRM, the forced change from the blades to the goofy Mii knock-offs, and Trixie 360. Gamerscore be damned this is something I will have no part of.

REALLY?! First the mandatory file size price chart. Then, Microsoft has a ten year console life cycle planned. (Sniffle, RIP unborn 360 Team Fortress 2 updates.) Now this. At least I don't HAVE TO get the Game Room. I can live with XBLA.

Anyone wishing to distribute content over Xbox Live has to make sure their content falls within a specific size range. The larger the file, the higher the minimum cost to distribute it is. It's the reason there isn't more free stuff on Live. Special exceptions can be made, usually at additional cost to the group submitting the content. The only area I can't find this in is the Indie games. (The price is completely up to the maker if I recall correctly. Microsoft just takes some of the profit.)

Consoles head the market right now. Computer game creators work with up to date technology and then have to go back and make a less advanced version for consoles because new hardware comes out for computers every few months. With a ten year lifecycle we will start to see the 360 fall behind more and more, because we're still using the same hardware from 2005. It hasn't been noticeable since the 360 hasn't been pushed to its limits much until now... only halfway through its lifecycle.

No, they don't look good enough on a 360. It can't even handle 720p in most games, much less full high-def content at 1080p.

I agree, the consoles are getting dated at this point and the PC is so far ahead but yet the focus is on the out dated consoles, quite sad really. : (
