Speaking of achievements, does anyone know if you use the flying machine in this dlc? I foolishly missed my chance to get the Fly Swatter Achievement and really don't want to play through the entire game to get it .:P

There's no mention of the flying machine in the review, which makes me think it won't be in this DLC. I am almost positive it is in the Bonfire of the Vanities DLC next month.

They show it in the video above at the very end of the commentary for the battle of forli dlc. Not sure if it's in there either, but I need that achievement too lol.

Yeah, this is a no go for me. The only reason I finished that game was for the platinum trophy, because I was so bored when I reached the halfway, that I couldn't wait to finish that thing. I don't wanna go to that torture again if there isn't any trophies to collect.

I know many people considered AC2 for their game of the year, but I found the same problems I encounter with the original AC in 2007.

@Alexis

Heh, that's why when I feel the need to be an achievement whore with a game, I always check the achievement sites to see which ones are "missable" on a play-through. Helps to avoid issues like this.

The fact that it's more Assassins Creed, far outweighs the fact there's no achievements. Don't worry whores, i'm sure they'll be cheevos in the next batch. ;)

The thing is, I'm totally not an achievement whore. My gamerscore is something like 4 or 5 thousand. But the game is soooo good, I would like to be able to say I played it to completion.

There is in fact a flying machine mission. But the best part, you can fly the machine now whenever you want. Its marked a "Special Memory" and is at the top of the lighthouse in the marsh town.

I agree just remember that Multiple Kills + Smoke Bomb + PSN/Live Online = Instant crash.

Anyway I'm pretty addicted to AC2 I'm going a last effort to collect all the feathers, any advice?

Some advice:

first, get a new console if yours is crashing when doing that.
second, don't forget that you can go into the options>DNA>feathers to see what districts have remaining feathers. then find a map online.

Thanks for the advice Space but the crashing thing is not a console failute but a AC2 bug which work around is to disconnect from Live or PSN when you try multiple assassinations with a smoke bomb.

For example this happens if you try to kill more than 10 enemies in less than lets say 30 seconds while using all your smoke bombs.

And for the Feather I didn't know that, thanks!

Cheers!

So I've been playing this game only a couple hours a week (busy life!) and I've actually only gotten to about Sequence 11. If I DL this will I just play it in order like it was never removed? Or is this Sequence just accessible through some menu?

I liked the game. I did.

But after playing subsequent story based games, I realized that it was only good.

I sold my copy, and I'm not sad I did so now.

When it goes to the AC1 price of $14, I'll pick it up again and play through this, but not until then.

@ Chris Traverse

Agreed, while I enjoy the pop up of achieving something during gameplay, it's not the deciding factor on whether I play or enjoy a game.

"...even though most of his participation involves putting sharp things through soft spots."

That's funny because I think it was in Forli that there was a horse race that got Ezio laid at the end.

Forgive me for not being part of the "in crowd" on this, but what is the big draw of trophies and achievements? I'm not making any kind of judgment here, I just want to know why they're so important to so many people. Also, I'll be downloading this as soon as possible.

I can't speak for everyone else, but on my case was that I didn't like the game, so if they had trophies I would considered paying $4 for it.

jocaju,

You finished the game and considered buying DLC despite not liking the game?

If you are spending your time on things you don't like, you are wasting your time.

Your time is more precious than a few gifs that some designer made in a hurry one late friday afternoon.

People have different reasons for why the do achievements/trophies, just like everything. This weird mentality that there's a singular mindset about them always gives me a headache, as if everyone in the world got together and agreed on one objective purpose for them.

I'm not sure why "non-essential" and "disappointly 1 hour" are being used. It's a single Sequence from the game that ended up getting dropped, and now restored for a very low price. I mean, it's intended to be a part of the whole game experience, not just an add-on.

That said, I think they could maybe just put in 1 achievement/trophy for completing it, just like all the other sequences in the game.

I don't see why they'd need any more, though, since it is supposed to be a part of the game as a whole - all the other achievements apply to it.

It's non-essential because it just isn't particularly engaging above some of the main game's sequences. It wouldn't feel like a notable loss if it had stayed on the cutting room floor.

I noticed that too. I queued it up on xbox.com marketplace and downloaded it for the 320 pts it should cost without any problems.

Also, to those who missed out on the flying machine achievement the first time around, there is a special memory where you can use the flying machine as much as you want to fly around Forli.

I finished the The DLC not 2 long ago & all I have 2 say is I hope the next DLC Bonfire of the Vanities is a whole lot longer and adds a few more trophies because as fun as this was it was just a lil tease. I'm not that disappointed but I just wanted a lil more but I guess that was the point of 2 releasing another 1

Like I said, I don't understand this statement. It's supposed to be another Sequence of the game, another small part of the whole. It's also only $4. I'm not sure why it has to be hours long.

Would you have rather never got the Sequence back, or something?
