Atlus project lead Scott Strichart also introduces the new difficulty settings -- easy mode allows you to keep your items and levels after dying! -- and the methods of control for AI partners, ranging from fully automated to fully player-controlled. Atlus calls this video a "walkthrough," but it's really more of an overview. In any case, might as well start studying up now in preparation for the February 9 release.

I have the import version (which is a little different with more online content, but obviously harder on an English/Spanish only speaker...) but I'm still picking this up.
It's a classic franchise, whether on Sega systems, Nintendo consoles, or handhelds. It's a shame that when a "core" Japanese release from a respected classic RPG/roguelike franchise comes along as a polished Wii exclusive, there's little hype on even a blog like Joystiq from the commmentors. Glad to see you guys are still cover it though. Shiren's gonna rock, and it looks like Amazon has it at a good price! plus, love that box art!

Ah Shiren the Wanderer... harder than Demon's Souls and no one will ever know (because apparently no one bought the DS version).

The Pokemon and Chocobo versions of this series enjoy a modest level of popularity. (Explorers of the Sky and Labyrinth of Time are well liked)
Pure grade Shiren though....
The fact they stopped any reset tricks is enough to put off the vast majority of the gaming audience.
(P.S: I support all Mystery Dungeon games though!!)
